Think we'll see anymore DOTM new Voyager molds toys beyond the 6 we know/bought already?
I'M REALLY DIS-APPOINTED. that we ain't getting more new mold DTOM voyager sized TF toys. as the voyager size level is my favorite TF toy size. for various reasons like: (1) the voyagers & leaders seem to be catered in design/sculpt/poseabilty/engineering more to older kids & adults. while the deluxes/basics/legends/supremes are catered to younger kids under age 5 desires/needs. (2) for the most part I view the voyagers as perfection. because their not top heavy. no annoying electronics. their well proportioned. (3) perfect size around 6.3 to 7.5 inhes tall in robot mode. (4)have decent stability on display shelves in robot mode. (5) for some strange reason Hasbro/takara design these voyagers as more sleek looking in robot modes, with the right bulk in other areas on the toy. (6) the voyager appear to be the most visably beautiful in every area compared to other TF toy sizes.
(7) The voyagers appear to be more poseable/have more articulated joints. sometimes a voyager version will have more poseability than a leader sized version. example ROTF Voyager & leader megatron. (8) for the most part these voyagers always feature higher adult themed sculpts/designs aimed at older kids/adults/fans. (9)I love the overly complicated designs/transformartion challenges these voyager sized toys offer.
thus far the 6 DOTM new molds voyagers we know of/bought already is as follows: Optimus prime,Megatron, shockwave,Skyhammer,Ironhide & Sentinel prime.
What gets me worried is as follows: the DOTM Voyager new molds in waves 1 thru 3 is as follows: Optimus prime,Megatron, shockwave,Skyhammer, Ironhide & Sentinel prime. ACCORDING TO ENTERTAINMENT EARTH DOTM WAVE 4 VOYAGERS get released in november 2011 & is ALL REPAINTS & NO NEW MOLD.
plus we haven't seen any proto type pics for any new mold DOTM Voyager on the internet.
I honestly think Hasbro will shut down/cancel DOTM new molds sooner than they did for the 2007 movie & ROTF movie toys. ROTF seemed to create new molds longer as it converted in Nest, then HFTD & LASTLY RTS.
It appears with the bad economy & people not buying as much LUXURY items which toys fall into this category. That Hasbro can't handle more than a few different TF toy lines per year.
It seems like in November both TF Prime & Generations new molds/recolors/remolds are gonna phase out/cancel out the DOTM NEW mold toys.
sure we'll keep seeing stores stocking DOTM toys till match 2012,but they'll all be repaints, remolds & stuff just get re-released over & over.
my SOLID guess is we'll keep seeing newer molds for the DOTM Deluxes & DOTM $29.99 Human allegince toys the most. while every other size level/price point phases out & releases older stuff.
FROM A TF toy line over all point of view,FOR ME,The DOTM Toy line was a huge waste & dissapointment. Hasbro/takara created way to many smaller size basics/scouts/legends. their just wasn't any room left for the bigger sized toys like voyagers & leaders. the deluxes even got short changed as a normal media supported TF line creates at least 16+ new mold deluxes.
I only bought about 6 new mold DOTM toys. I just didn't think the others deserved to be bought. Normally with full blown media supported TF toy line I buy over 10 toys.
SPECIAL NOTE: This is all my opinion. I don't claim anything I wrote in this reply as facts. nor do I have any contacts/inside info.

I'm sure we'll be seeing more voyagers. I'm just pissed that the price didn't go down when they started making them without electronics. At least the price is down now.
don't let me turn 40

We're 1/2th way through the regular DOTM line, and we have yet to have the post DOTM line, (Allspark Battles/Premium, NEST/HFTD).
There's going to be a ton of more figures being released, new Voyager molds, probably another Leader to boot.

I'm optimistic to a certain point.
when I see building negativity evidence. then I start to lose that optimistic view point.
here's some negative building evidence that I see:
(1) Hasbro didn't show anything new at botcon 2011. Regarding NEWER un-seen dotm voyager sized toys. for the 3rd & 4th quarters of 2011.
usually hasbro always show this,it was unusual they didn't.
(2) we've seen no newer voyager sized DOTM stolen illegial proto types/test shot pop up onn ebay, yahoo & the secondary market.
usually this is a bad sign of things to comes. as we always see stolen stuff for sale on the internet months before hasbro & stores reveal/sell it.
(3) the economy still hasn't receovered. people aren't buying that many luxury items. toys are a luxury & not a necessity to live/survive.
last year was a very bad year for all the transformers brand/toys in stores. this year doesn't seem any different.
(4)usually when hasbro introduces another main line supported by media. like TF Prime. Hasbro usually ends or gradually ends the previous main line supported by media which in this case would be the DOTM toys.
USUALLY the bigger sized toys like voyagers & leaders get the new mold AX first. while the smaller basics/deluxes linger on a bit longer.
(5) I highly doubt the DOTM toy line will have any voyager sized 100% new molds that spin off into sub-movie lines like ROTF did.
By my solid guesses were not going to be seeing any 100% new mold voyager sized DOTM toys past January 2012.
(6) entertainment earth listed DOTM voyager wave 4 for november 2011. with no 100% new mold voyagers in it.
If hasbro doesn't release any new mold voyagers DOTM toys that we haven't seen yet in pics/info. for the christmas buying season months in America. then it's a beyond safe bet/guess their won't be any more new mold voyagers released in 2011 nor 2012..
(7)all SOURCES point to TF Prime & generations taking center stage & stocking newer molds/remolds/repaints for the christmas buying holiday season months.
(8) It appears Hasbro for THE CHRISTMAS buying season for DOTM, is going to be over loading the USA major retail stores CHAINS with older DOTM toys & repaints. in a desperate attempt to milk the older molds for as much cash as they can.
While Hasbro puts 100% newer mold TF Prime toys & the last of the generations repaints/remolds out their for the christmas buying season.

1 ) One shady questionable BotCon does not mean the end of the world. There is still SDCC.
2 ) Last year was special. Hasbro has locked down on their factories, and stolen prototypes are nill now. And Takara never leaks out of their factories ever.
3 ) The US Dollar has been down in the dumps before. But that's not going to stop Transformers collectors from buying figures. That's not going stop parents from buying kid's toys for their birthday. And it's certainly not stopping X-mas
4 ) The movie line is just way too strong to put the axe on it. Hasbro knows how much money they can get from throwing the Dark Of The Moon logo on their packaging
5 ) The 2007 Movie toyline has one new Voyager (Incinerator) post main line. ROTF has 7 (Bludgeon, Mindwipe, New Fallen, Battle Blades Optimus Prime, Highbrow, Lugnut and SeaSpray). To say that there won't be any new Voyager is way too bold of a claim. Hasbro plans 2-3 years in the future. They have things covered. .
6 ) Entertainment Earth can be great at times, but they're not 100% correct.
7 ) Like what? All we know is that we're getting 5 Transformers: Prime toys, and a handful of loose rumors on Generations. Nothing is concrete right now, and Hasbro wouldn't stop their DOTM toy line when it's movie was just release a week ago.
8 ) 2007 and 2009 Christmas were oversaturated with brand new Transformers Movie figures. I doubt 2011 is going to break that chain.
You're awfully pessimistic for being optimistic. Just be patient man.

(1) most of the time SDCC mirrors what was shown at botcon in that same year. It's usually like this 9 out of 10 times.
(2)It wasn't just last year. those factory workers have been heavily stealing TF toys from factories & selling them on-line way back from the beastwars toy line days & have continued non-stop till today.
Has hasbro locked down on their factories? I don't know.
(3)yeah but the dollar is down, last time is was this down THIS BADLY was during the 1970's/During the 2 world wars & the 1920's. never has gas been this high. gasoline has trippled in price per gallon from 6 years ago.
it'll take a while for the dollar & gasoline prices to go back to what the middle/lower class considers normal. it won't happen over night nor within a 6 month period. this will take years upon years to happen.
(4)I agree the movie lines are very strong. no ones saying it'll get 100% axed. hasbro will simply stop making new molds. and release older waves & repaints for the christmas buying season this year.
(5)The ROTF blue fallen wasn't a 100% new mold. it was a remold.
(6)Entertainment earth's info i'm referencing comes directly from Hasbro very own case assortment info.
(7 &

the only reason ROTF kept getting newer molds,repaints/older waves on shelves so long. is because their was A dotm movie in 2011.
hasbro tried not to take a break & release rotf up until the very last mninute to make a fluid change into DOTM.
even going to the extent of having the ROTF toy line get sub titles like nest allegiance,HFTD & RTS.
the 2007 movie toy line was released in the good o'l days/years before the economy crashed & gasoline prices trippled. back then the average TF toy line was on shelves/peg for around 18 months.
THESE DAYS hasbro has to keep re-thinking their strategies, release less & not make the individual TF toy lines be in stores past a certain time frame.
Retail chain stores are getting very strict because of the downward spiral economy. they want less on shelves/pegs & want to wrap up individua toy lines quicker.
retail stores aren't doing that great in buyers emptying shelves/pegs compared to years ago. retail stores order less not to get stuck with a over abundance.
Recently all the reatail stores in america took a major blow when they had to extreme clearance everything in order to make room for the DOTM toys.usually when stores do this they feel un-comfortable & order less of the brand the company creates.

te movie is about to eclipse the 1 BILLION DOLLAR MARK. if you think for one second hasbro isnt going to capitalize on that youre nuts
the movie came out a week (literally seven days ago) and the product thats been out for a little while is only now starting to move due to the movie.to be perfectly honest i really dont worry to much about new molds coming theyll come sure enough makes no difference to me if its in dotm packaging or not.
hasbro has stated in the past that deluxes are their most profitable price point and voyagers arent far behind. as others have said dont worry
