ToyWorld.jp, the folks behind Hegemon, are teasing an upcoming project. Speculate away, though it appears to be Optimus Prime based on his current IDW appearance:

there's no shortage of official Optimus Primes of all shapes and sizes. It'd take something quite impressive for me to be interested in a 3rd party one.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

I would much prefer the old idw Prime design by E.J. Sue. But this does have potential, lets just hope they stay away from unnecessary translucent plastic.

I find it hilarious that the most common complaint I hear about Classics Prime is the doors on his arms. However it is possible that these doors could become flush with his arms like a buckler-shield or something.

These door arms don't seem as out of place though. If they stay true to the sketch, they won't stand out as bad I guess. I don't like the windvane on the cab though.

I find the sketch a little too off-classics for my liking, but then again we haven't seen the actual figure yet so I'll hold on my judgements until then.

The last set of Hegemon photos didn't do much for me-not going to get too excited about this until we get some Hegemon reviews first.

...okay, my interest is perked. I enjoy the Classics leader molds, kibble and all, and I really liked that the current IDW Optimus is at least in small part homaging it through the arm kibble. If this is good, and I can afford it, I may put aside some coin for him.
Not sure about a trailer though.

I like the designs from the first Ongoing arc so I'll give it a shot. If they were to make a Ultra Magnus or Swindle oh, dear Primus they wouldn't be able to ask for too much money!

Re: ToyWorld.jp Teases Their Next Project: TW-02
if a company wants guaranteed money from me for one of the designs from that comic, it has to be Menasor. Still, I do quite like that Prime design. I suppose, if it works out to being the same price as hunting down a Henkei Prime, and is the right sort of size, I might be interested.

I would be 100% behind an IDW style Ultra Magnus as well.

Henkei Convoy (Prime) is the standard by which all Classics toys are compared against.
It isn't perfect.
However, it is the standard for Magnus/City Commander, SG Prime, and so much of our Classics shelves in terms of scale and proportion.
While Classics Megatron was kind of always a better figure, it was always a bit of an outsider in regards to its looks.
Personally, I doubt I would ever replace Prime at this point. Any potential replacement would need to be far, far better than Henkei Convoy and would need to be G3 Trailer compatible.

Henkei Megatron has one big thing going gainst him: those wings. They hinder the way he can be displayed and posed. They just get in the way.
But I rather like Classics Prime. And, yeah, he has a trailer already and everything. I don't think I'll be replacing him.

While I do look at Hedgemon as a potential Classics Megatron replacement, I do not feel that way about this potential Optimus. I view it as a stand alone figure in the Ongoing style that would have a place among my other Optimus Primes.
Again, Ultra Magnus and Swindle in that style would be just about the best damn things put out this year.

Pretty much this... It looks cool enough (if it turns out like the sketch,) but there is a limit to how many $100+ Optimus Primes I need in my collection, especially when it comes to 3rd Parties. It's a bit of a turn off when these guys are doing stuff just for shits and giggles. If 3Ps want to do stuff that HasTak for some reason just ignores, like say a Blitzwing or a proper G1 Shockwave for my Classics collection...as the annoyingly overused line goes: shut up and take my money (I'll at least spare you the lame accompanying image that goes along with it...side note: I need to start posting "in before SU&TMM" whenever something cool gets announced.) But if 3Ps want to just do random **** and charge $100 plus for it, that's when I start to agree with Seibs that this 3rd Party **** is just out of control and stupid. Yeah, there's a bit of a different spin on this guy, IDW and all, hip hip hooray. Still unnecessary. I'm very happy for the 10s out there that always wanted a proper IDW accurate Prime for $100+, though.

Also how his cannon sits on his arm if you have in pointing his cannon upright at someone his hand is upside down and reversed I always dis likedthat about mine but now that I have a tw-01 my henkei Meg's is out of the picture. He is hands down the best megatron figure out IMO I even like him better than my mp-05. He is a little taller than everyone but as soon as I get this prime they should be the same height and I think the leaders should be taller than all the other bots. But if your going by actual g1 scale you may not like how tall he is

Yeah, I don't like how tall he is. I think it's great that he's alrger than Prime, but not so great that he dwarfs Label Soundwave, the Classic Seekers and ... well, everybody else in the Decepticons.
Still, he's the best G1 Megatron mold to date. The heaight is not a deal breaker.

Re: ToyWorld.jp Teases Their Next Project: TW-02
I had a question for anyone who is familiar with this IDW stlye Prime. I looked up his robot form online and he has all these extra shoulder pads and what not, but what does his vehicle mode look like...does it look G1 or does it look quasi cybertronian??? I couldn't find pictures of this comic book vehicle form online anywhere that TW-02 will most likely take after?
I'd love to get Hegemon, but too be honest I'm running out of money. Plus I modified my United Megatron pretty good. I took the wings off (popped out the pin instead of cutting). I made the cannon barrel that sticks out the back of his shoulder (pegs in right where the screw holes are in his back). I bought the black IDW/G1 Shapeways arm cannon. Finally, I made my own chest plate for him that makes his chest look more like the cartoon out of some styrene and put a foil decepticon symbol on it. All in all he looks pretty sweet, only thing that looks sort of off is his lack of black hip pads around his waist, but its no biggie. I can't seem to justify replacing him just yet.
