This looks better than the classics version. Check out thge paint scheme and the dark colored face...my boy is back. I don't have pics to compare with since, I sold my first set of US Classics, but, these look much better.

A few things I'll say about this version. My biggest like is the face. I complained about this with the old classics version, as well as Robotmasters. He has a slightly darker face than Thundercarcker and Skywarp. The jet mode is cool too, it's almost identical to G1. I do miss the updated jet mode paint scheme that the Classics' version had, becuase they do have F-15's with that paint scheme right now. To note that they painted the decepticon symbols have made it a good toy. The colors are darker than the Classics version, and the detailing shows up more in alt-mode than in the classics version. The guns are odd to me with the chrome...leave a "?" in my head, but still I like it as an updated G1 toy.

is it just me, or is there an unhealthy amount of chrome on these Henkei Classics?

I'm not sure which ones I prefer yet. There are some things I like better about the Hasbro versions and some things that I like better about the TakaraTomy versions. Henkei Megatron is definitely better than Classics Megatron but the rest could be debatable.

I like his wings better than the Classics version, I'm not sure if I'd get him just for that though. Henkei SS does look more G1 accurate and I wouldn't have to deal with his chrome anyways as I'm gonna be getting some null ray cannons for him and Classics Skywarp.

Starscream surprised me the most of the Henkei figures that I got. His colors are great! The red is deeper and richer, the face looks better, and even the grey is a nicer shade. I just swapped the null rays on my original because I didn't like the chrome.

If you don't have this figure yet, or if you are just a Starscream fan, do yourself a favor and pic this up.

I'm gonna be the minority here. But, judging from the pics I've seen I
like the Hasbro version better. The Henkei SS does have some nice aspects though, like the black landing gear and the minor paint apps on the feet look good.

None of the pictures that I have seen convey how good the new paint apps are. You really have to see them in person.

Thanks for the pictures. After seeing a comparison picture of Henkei and Classics Starscream - I like the Henkei version much better. I don't like Hasbro's paint scheme. Why do they add so much yellow to their characters? The Henkei paint scheme for the wings and body are more accurate.

The chrome on the Henkei guns is minor.

Got my Henkei Starscream today, and I have to say he's looking awesome. Prime, Bumblebee, Mirage, and Grimlock will be next up.

I'd been on the fence about this one but as my Hasbro version had crappy paint apps I think it'll be worth paying the extra for what is clearly a superior looking figure.

I have never thought twice, I always prefer Takara's paintjobs when it comes to being show accurate.

The red on Henkei Starscream is much richer than the orangish red of Classics starscream.

I am really worried that TakaraTomy is going to make the Botcon seekers.... man, here we go
