Is it just me, or does Screamer look overly black and purple? He reminds me a lot of Skywarp, actually. Which is a plus, I guess. Now it just comes down to seeing him in person, but if I get him, he's going to be Skywarp, since I'm too cheap to get the Arms Micron version.

I think everyone needs to remember that the RiD figures are meant to be aimed at KIDS. The reason they became simpler is because they need to be fun for children. The reason they have gimmicks is to appeal to children.
"Hasblow" is not trying to aim at collectors with this line because collectors make up at most about 5% of the market for these things. If y'all can't just take your kids' toys because they're too "kiddish", why are you collecting action figures in the first place? Hasbro tried to cater to collectors with First Edition: there were distribution problems because retailers had doubts that the higher complexity, higher quality figures would appeal to children.
They did everything they could for their collectors that could have been done without them bankrupting themselves - they didn't decide to make FE unavailable in the US, WalMart, ToysRUs, Target, and KMart did.
And to be honest: these don't look that bad. The first Voyager Bulkhead images made it look MUCH worse than it ended up. The fact that it costs about a quarter of what the FE would cost makes him look appealing to me.
And Starscream's scale doesn't bother me because the show designs use mass-shifting, so any toy would be out of scale with ITSELF.
I also have a feeling Hasbro will try to make FE available in the US somehow, perhaps by repackaging or repainting some of the figures in the Generations line or something - They made the molds, and they lost A LOT of money with the FE distribution problems, and I expect they'll try to figure out some way to regain their losses.

Hehe...I don't care how "special" a deluxe figure may be. NO deluxe figure is worth $40. (But hey, that's just me.)

Well if $40 is to much what do you think about spending $680 on a Hercules that's the grand total with shipping and tax lol

The photo gallery actually made them look worse. The transformation sequences are awful.

Ball joints are always a good thing. I hate ratcheting joints.
I still think Starscream looks good, and they made Bulkhead look even better.

For Voyagers and up ratchets give more stability than ball joints could ever give. In fact, the last Voyager-sized to use ball joints was Armada Red Alert.

Re: Transformers Prime RID Voyager Starscream & Bulkhead In-Hand Images
ok, I'm not jumping on the hate wagon but I have to say I'm not feeling Voyager Starscream. I'm not saying it's a bad Transformer because it is a pretty decent looking toy, I just prefer the FE version since it is more accurate to the character portrayed on the screen. I would love to see this repainted into Thundercracker so I can have different bodied toys and not just lazy repaints.
Bulkhead isn't as bad as initial shots portrayed him but again, still not as good as the FE which has the bulk look to him. I hope the kids like these.

Technically, the last Voyagers to have ball joints would be PRID Prime and Megatron.
With the whole downsizing of Transformers over the last 2 lines, they no longer have to worry about weight issues on ball joints.
I'm fine with that, because more often than not, ratchet joints give you 2 poses, legs too close together or legs spread to wide apart. The only thing I hated about Animated.

I disagree! The Animated Voyager is still quite turd-shaped in comparison.

I still cannot get TFA Leader Megatron into a decent standing position. His legs are either pegged together, or splayed apart really wide.

I miss animated they could have made so many figures. So many characters they had in the show that didn't make the toy line

I've come to the conclusion that I rather like Bumblebee without those black stripes that serve to remind me of Michael Bsy's existence. Two Arms Micron Bumblebees: ordered!
