I agree. Haha, I swear (when I saw the thread title) I was thinking the same thing! I'm really liking Crankcase so far. Megatron is better than I expected too.

Megatron. Megatron, Megatron, Megatron. If there is 1 figure you get, let it be Megatron. Even if you decide to not like the robot mode, the truck mode is pure WIN. There should be a Leader class figure just for that. It would be in scale with Voyager Prime at least.

Deluxe Roadbuster. Pulling out his rocket launchers in vehicle mode looks fraggin' awesome, and his robot mode is well proportioned (I think anyways).

1. Leader class Sentinel Prime [so far, the only new primary character to get the LC treatment, and is actually THE RIGHT APPROXIMATE SCALE.]
2. Voyager Megatron [In case you don't expect a leader class of him to show up.]
3. Deluxe Roadbuster.

I made a real cowl out of a brown pair of tights I found, he looks way cooler with it, he looks really creepy, but it is a pain in the ass to put on because I put like 100 holes in it to make it look ripped and old so It's hard to find the whole were his head goes

Re: What DOTM figure would you suggest I pick up?
Cyberverse: Powerglide and Blackout. Both are really fun figures and Blackout's transformation is pretty neat for such a little guy.
HA Scouts: Sandstorm with Pvt. Deadclif. Great in robot and dune buggy mode; don't really care for weapon mode. Best of the four released atm.
Deluxe: Lot of people really like Crankcase but I was disappointed with him. I think it has to do with his tiny stature in vehicle mode. It seems too small. Robot is nice but his dreads are a pain to put away when transforming (they go behind his chest plate but they fight back!).
I would recommend Roadbuster for his fun transformation and he looks great in vehicle, robot and fan-made attack modes. I would also recommend Bumblebee too. I was initially going to skip him but he turned out to be really likable (might be due to the extremely low expectations I had of him at the time). Transformation is fun and complex enough to keep him interesting and looks a lot better than Cannon BB from ROTF. I also like the slimmer arms than those of BBBB (Battle Blades Bumble Bee).
Voyager: I am waiting for Shockwave and Skyhammer to arrive from hts.com but from what I've read in other interviews, these two are supposed to be really good.
Leader: Sentinel Prime is a great figure. Looks very regal in bot mode and has some G1 influences in the design (kinda reminds me of Alpha Trion; a "Bay"sterdized version of him). Vehicle mode looks great. Transformation from robot to fire truck is a b*tch the first few times so if you are the type who is easily flustered and tends to throw frustrating toys against the wall then this toy may not be for you...

The plastic on the DotM figures seems to be a lot tougher than what they used on RtS and Generations. Those guys have stress marks all over them and I don't use much force at all. With Crankcase I really have to force the hood down to transform it and there are no signs of stress.
Back on topic, I'd recommend Backfire. Even though his robot mode is pretty bad his BFG mode more than makes up for it. This is one of those few figures that I'd buy multiple repaints of.

I've only opened Crankcase and Ratchet so far but I also have voyager Megs in prison. I totally recommend Ratchet. If you get Ratchet and Crankcase I'd recommend swapping their weapons over cos I think it looks better that way.

I've only picked up 4 so far, my favorite of which is Skyhammer, a fantastic heli-bot. Sentinel and Shockwave seem to be those either you'll "love'em/hate'em" types(I quite like them), and Powerglide is boss for such a tiny figure, a great G1 homage to boot.
I told the fire to go **** itself, and it did.
