Hey I have a friend going to Ny ith a large budget with him so he asked me what kinds of TF's I wanted. He says FAO is the largest toy store in the world and I just wanted to know what the sell there.

If anyone has gone tell me what they have! I greatly appreciate it. :PRAY:

I went to NYC a few years ago and I wanted to check it out, unfortunately it was closed by the time I got there. There was a 3 floor TRU in times Square that's worth checking out if it's still there.

Yeah, FAO was bought out by Toys R Us. It is now a Toys R Us store. They also jack up their prices even more than usual.

I went last march and there was a FAO Schwartz next to the underground apple store. It DOES NOT have transformers. At least not that I could see. The 3 story TRU in times square though was sexy. It had the reissues of perceptor and the insecticons as far as the eye could see. ok maybe not that many but they had alot. And it's stupid to complain about jacking up prices in YC. THe place is expensive thats just how it goes. But there really isn't anything there you wont find locally.

Cool, I'm actually heading to NY next week, and will have to check out this TRU. I'm sure the TFs will be filled with DOTM by then though...

FAO Schwartz is indeed owned by TRU (still under the name of FAO Schwartz, though), and it's even more expensive than regular TRU's. It's mostly a tourist trap, in my opinion. And I couldn't find any Transformers there either. TRU Times Square is a lot more fun: lots to see, although it's BUSY at all times.
By the way, Hamley's in London say that THEY are in fact the largest toystore in the world: I've been to both several times, and I'd be inclined to say Hamley's is indeed bigger. Hamley's is also stupidly expensive though.

They will probably have the same selection of TFs that you would find at your local TRU, but at higher prices.

At least you guys don't live next to the biggest mall in North America. Local TFs from the 3 TRUs around town are scalped by the toy stores in the mall, and then prices are 2x-3x the usual. Jeez.

TRU in Times Square is the biggest toy store in the world. They have a nice Transformer section as well. If you are in NY, you might as well go and visit ImageAnime.

Manhattan is a black hole of TF buying opportunities. TRU in Times Square is always heavily stocked, but good luck finding something you might want. If you do, deluxes are $15.99. FAO is awesome if you're looking for a huge stuffed animal; TFs, however, are in short supply -- but you might get lucky. Other than that, we have two lousy K-marts and a hobby shop or two.

Yeah, don't forget to visit ImageAnime and ToyTokyo. They sell TF and import stuffs. I don't like Timesquare TRU because most of the time they're fill with the Movie TF. Have fun and welcome to my city!
