I'm 36, and up until the hype over movie toys started to pick up, I was only lightly interested in TFs. I had a few, and most weren't even displayed. But the new styling and characters have made me appreciate the older stuff I missed out on.
Since I have essentially all the movie toys I want, I'm now collecting those older ones, like Armada, Energon, etc. I imagine it'll take me a while to get caught up w/ all those, plus I'll have to stay on top of the new ones- Allspark Power has some great ones, and Animated lookes like a fun line too.
I used to be hugely into Star Wars, and GI Joe to a lesser degree, but I've not been as interested in them lately. I imagine someday my interest in TFs will wane, and I might even sell some off (like I did in the 8th grade w/ most of my Star Wars toys, what a mistake that was).
Nothing lasts forever, but some things sure are fun while they last. I'm loving my current TF joy-ride!

If they ever stop coming out with a new line every year I might consider slowing down.
TF's is the one fad I never grew out of. I have a ton of little collections of other things I started then got bored with but that hasn't happened with TFs.

I'm not sure. I'll probably keep my current figures, and encourage my kids to start their own collection. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm still collecting by age 30, as long as they keep coming out with bigger and better more exciting lines every year. It's how Hasbro keeps making money, and I'm hooked.

I'm 33 and loved TF's since the begining. I watched the cartoon religiously as a kid and always got one of the "big ones" (ie. superion gift set, jet fire) as my main Christmas gift. I collected sports cards and TF's as a kid and where the whole collecting thing goes sour is i grew up in a split (divorced) family. Dad lived in Pa, Mon lived in Colorado. Each time I moved my toys and cards would get thrown away (you can only carry soo much on a plane or take with on greyhound). So i find myself now trying to get back what I lost as a kid and collect for the future. Its slow because I've been trying to get caught up on two hobbies, but its getting there. so to answer your question I will be TF collector for life

I'm more worried bout how many new lines they might come out with. I don't want a huge colleciton, I find it harder to enjoy individual pieces, but if they make more cool stuff, I'll end up that way.
So.. HASBRO I HOPE YOU MAKE CRAPPY TF TOY LINES SO I DONT HAVE TO BUY MORE!
