A twisted Swindle idea

Postby skyblast » Wed Oct 03, 2007 1:18 pm

How would you feel if Hasbro decided to next release Swindle in Leader class? Not that they will....I know that they are trying to stick with movie characters.

Actually, I might go for Swindle over a freakin Prime Nightwatch repaint, which is next in line and out in some places?

Just the thought of Swindle in that huge box with a giant lens head makes me laugh. I think I would begin to lose a little faith in Hasbro.

Motto: "Everything I do is divinely sanctioned."
Weapon: Jawbreaker Cannon
Nightwatch Prime is made of pure p0rn0 sex.

I swear people get so hung up on the fact that things are repaints, they fail to see how good those redecos are.

Not you in particular Skyblast, I'm just saying...

Well I guess my question is...is Hasbro simply trying to make a quick buck off a figure that has already been done by throwing new paint on it?

What is Hasbro's point that they are trying to convey by changing the color scheme on Prime? What is a Nightwatch Prime or a Recon Barricade anyway? If there is no point than it just leads me to believe that Hasbro is trying to make quick money.

Of course that's why Hasbro does repaints. Sure, they might listen to the fandom to find out which repaints we want, but they do them as it makes more money than creating a new mold.

And if they only used each mold once we'd probably be looking at Deluxes costing $15 a pop.

I have nothing against repaints, I just wish that the repaints were different enough from the originals, Nightwatch Prime is an example of a repaint done right, the repaint looks as good as, if not better than the original.
The reapints of Ironhide and Barricade however fail in all aspects, bad colour schemes, and they look worse than the original toy.

As for Leader Swindle, if his plastic quality was improved, I would be tempted to get him (unlike Megatron and Brawl) he has an interesting Transformation, a decent alt mode and would end up being like a larger Alternator, which cannot be a bad thing.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.

Not if the Deluxes sells like hotcakes!

They only have to design and build better stuffs.

Repaints is being plain lazy. (Unless there are real characters for the repaints. Such as G1 seekers.)

It's just a rip-off.

I'd avoid these available & upcoming figures:
Repaint Barricade -> Recon Barricade
Repaint Bumblebee -> Cliffjumper
Repaint Swindle -> (what's his name?)
Repaint Blackout -> Evac
Repaint Prime -> Nightwatch (Unless you didn't buy the flaming red Prime yet, then this can be a better buy!)
