classics ultra magnus
i just got a couple of 2-packs and i noticed that the pic of um on the side of the box and also the pic of him on the back of the box has him with a blue faceplate but both mine have a white faceplate. has anyone else noticed this? did i get 2 duds? personally i think i would've preferred the blue faceplate.

No dud, my UM is like that too. And yes, I too would've preferred a blue face plate, as it seems to suit the mold.

that's typical of all the Classics box art and actual product. for example, Classics SS was depicted as having metallic paint jobs on its grey parts, but we ended up with dull grey plastic instead.
the Classics lineup had some of the most misleading production photos/box art/renders that i have seen so far. even voyager OP had a slight mistransformation on its box render of its robot mode - the knee pads are mounted in reverse on the box. it made me also wonder when i first got it if i had a dud or what.

Missed labeled boxes have been in production since at least Cybertron; according to the picture on the box Mudflap's crane is mounted on his other arm!
But I think the Movie figures take the cake with bad labeling thought--Jazz's "sword" for starters. In fact, I think pretty much every movie figure I've picked up has had mislabeling somewhere on the box.
Go figure...

I was just thinking(yea, I know that's dangerous) that Hasbro could build a Transport trailer that would fit both, prime and magnus, that transformed into armor and a type of robot similar to the apex armor that came with the powermaster prime reissue.

An exclusive armor was planned for Ultra Magnus, but there was no way of justifying the costs.

yes, but what I'm sugesting is making Apex, or whatever they want to name him, and having his alt mode be armor or a trailer. that way he can be sold as a transformer and not an acessory. if you think about it, an acessory is all wing saber really was in energon.

I've heard that a new Ultra Magnus mold is being considered for next years Universe line. Hopefully, he'll either have armor, or transform in a similar manner to Titanium Magnus. Only without, you know, all the suck and fail.
