Cybertron or Beast Wars
Recently I watched both animated series and I know most people like Beast Wars but apart from its overused stock animation Cybertron (in my opinion) is on the same level. I enjoyed both series almost the same.

While I really loved Galaxy Force, I can't say it was on the same level as Beast Wars. Beast Wars just had so much going for it.

I thought Cybertron was a decent show. I don't think it was terrible, but I also don't feel it's on the same level as Beast Wars, which to me is one of the greatest TF shows ever. But remember, however anyone feels about any TF show, it's all just a matter of opinion. So even if others don't enjoy Cybertron as much as you do, don't let that ruin your continued enjoyment of the show.
Currently in need of: RID Rail Spike robot mode head (not Rail Racer's head); RID Midnight Express gun; RID Rapid Run missile; Animated Ultra Magnus' Hammer

Re: Cybertron or Beast Wars
The two things that i didnt like about Cybertron was the stock animation) and the way Optimus had to go into Super/Savage Claw or Sonic Wing mode to fight everyone, no matter how strong or weak they are.

Overusing the stock animations was one thing I did't like in Cybertron. The other was the sometimes incoherent story, which may be the result of translation.
A similarity to stock animations (and one of the weakness of the show) was the use of transformation call-words in Beast Wars ("Maximize", "Terrorize"); not nearly as annoying as repeated transformation sequences in AEC, but still a japanese thing that didn't have place in a canadian show.
Story- and character-wise, BW beats the hell out of Cybertron.

Cybertron was the best of the Unicron Trilogy, but still not as good as Beast Wars.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Re: Cybertron or Beast Wars
I'm a Beast Wars fan myself and never got through the run of Cybertron but there were some scenes I loved such as Thunderblast humming the Jaws theme as she sneaked up on Hot Shot in the water. Also love the music for the scene where Overhaul becomes Leo Breaker.
Ransack and Crumplezone were a likeable duo and no Cybertron voice annoyed me like Rattrap did. Though Jetfire's Australian accent made me cringe. Nothing against Australia, I just can't accept alien robots having accents. Same with Red Alert whose Armada voice was much cooler.
Strange you compare both series when it was mostly Cybertron toys that were used for the BW characters pre-Beast versions by Botcon.

Cybertron is ass, and so is Energon. Beast Wars is ok, but over rated.

Beast Wars is superb in the story telling as well as the character development, The Unicron Trilogy has none of that.

Both of them pale in comparison to Robots in Disguise.

Beast Wars on SO many levels is superior to Cybertron.
Beast Wars had original story and great writing...not to mention some of the best voice-work in animation history. It was original and fresh and state-of-the-art for it's time. Beautifully done.
Cybertron was a re-dub from Japanese, and was poorly executed due to the cultural differences. If you wish to see the series done right, watch it in it's original Japanese as Galaxy Force and subbed in English...It is 100% better than Cybertron!

Re: Cybertron or Beast Wars
Beast wars was a good addtion to the g1 time line can't say the same for BM though...though the Thrust/waspinator Jetstorm/Silverbolt Black Arachnia love triangle was addorably twisted. BM also introduced a think the first true decepticon femme Strika! Black Arachnia was original a maximal protoform.
Cybertron was okay better than Energon.
Never got a chance to see RID though I do think it was the first TF show to use the firetruck motif for optimus Prime unless Powermaster Optimus was a firetruck.

I recently watched a review of him and Ultra Magnus, and well, Prime is a good toy, but has some flaws - the vehicle mode is superior, but the robot mode lacks weapons; and the whole figure screams for a Hot Spot repaint.
As for UM - the alt. mode is very nice, again, but the robot modes torso looks like it was made for a figure three classes smaller. Thus, a repaint of him as Thunderclash would be self-evident.
As for RID as a show - I TRIED to watch it, but it is worse than the AEC trilogy. For anybody who watched both - is the original Car Robots better?

Bullsh!t!!! RID is by far THE WORST series ever! But thats just my opinion. I shall restrain from ranting. I couldnt watch the first episode without feeling bad for myself. At least I was able to watch 3 episodes of Beast Machines.

I go with the show Garry Chalk doesn't hate and has won a Golden Globe for best animated show.

Jeez, no hiding of opinions, huh? I posted that solely to see what kind of reactions I would get.
I've watched both, and Car Robots is better. RiD had it's order screwed up because of 9/11 and because the company that dubbed it was moronic.
What Car Robots/RiD did have going for it was that, yes, It's OP was the first firetruck, it's the first series in which Optimus Prime combines with another sentient bot, and it was the first to have an evil black Optimus Prime character.
Not everybody is a fan of the series like me, but you can't argue that it affected the TF line positively.

The only thing bad about RID is the DW one shot comic.

RiD and Energon had some really awesome toys in their categories - RiD had reissued FortMax, Bruticus, repainted one of the awesomest toys into a slightly-less good paint scheme (G2 Laser Prime is superior to Scourge!) and had Sky-byte. But RiD Megatron looked awful.
Energon had re-discovered the combiners, and a lot of G1 characters (Omega Supreme, Springer, Rodimus, Shockwave, Scorponok...) and the designs were generally better (Tidal Wave looks awesome, just as his reincarnation (I don't remember the name)) still, it had Kicker and Ironhide to ruin the show.
