Finally found the Ultimate Bumblebee @ Target... and now I feel guilty for having bought it
LOL
I'm sad.. I really wanted this figure, it's the first Transformer I got brand new since I was maybe 9 or 10 years old. I get it home, get it out of the package...transform it a few times and now I wish I hadn't purchased it.
Buyers remorse I guess...there's nothing wrong with it, at all. Anyone in the market for a 3 hour old Ultimate BB? LOL...

Its probably the fact that you had to fork over so much (79.99) for a die-cast toy.
Sleep on it, and do what I do-- always save the box, don't tear it apart, and keep that reciept. if not there is always Ebay...

Yes, they will take it back only with the receipt and original packaging materials (and it can be opened).
They will ask why, and may not take to kindly to the reason being buyers remorse. When trying to return something like this, I usually say that I got it for my five year old son but after opening it we realized it was much too complex for his age.
I sold one for $100 + shipping on eBay, so that could be an option (although mine was MISB).

Why even bother making up a lie?
Just say, I don't want it.

I don't think there's any diecast at all, yes there is metal to support the robotics, but other than that, it's all disappointingly plastic.

As much as I want to agree with you (and believe me, I do...) sometimes telling the truth (especially that line) just won't work with Target. They're rather difficult to deal with, on all sides of the issue. Getting them to stock it, or find it for you, getting through the register to purchase it, and if you have to return it....drink a tall glass of Vodka before hitting that line. You'll need it.

I'm kinda feeling buyer's remorse on this figure as well. If it weren't for the animatronics that screw the posability (ie, just a big action figure) I'd be fine with it. But if I'm gonna pay $80 for a TF, it'd better be posable. I just haven't made my mind up to return it yet.

I felt that the first time I baught a expensive figure..but the first is always the hardest. I use to get stomach aches thinking of a $50 figure. Now I have 10+ Yamato Macross figures (usually in the $150+ and $200 range) and a few Japanese exclusives and MP figures.
Give it some time and the remorse will go away... The toy looks awesome and I can not wait to get the figure myself, just give it some time.

Just bought this bad boy too, but I refuse to open it till I sell my extra Leader Prime, so I have this box stareing at me from across the room. He looks sweet. Maybe not $80 sweet, but great none the less. He sure is one big son of a....

Just wanted to say thanks to all who responded.. as soon as I could break away from work today at lunch I took it back to Target. It was almost no questions asked, very nice, polite girl took my return.
I feel relieved... now I can commence looking for the 9.99 movie deluxe...

i don't have any remorse, but i do have a bit of disapointment over the firing missile: does anyone else have any trouble getting it to work? the instructions aren't especially helpful, it only seems to fire once every 10 times or so...

Because when I did it was true. Not on an $80 Bumblebee figure, but I have had that reason for some of the more fragile FABs (Ironhide for one). I have no problem saying I don't want it, but when I buy a kid's toy and it falls apart when I try to transform it, I want them to know it is not a good toy for the age range stated on the package.
I just offered that because he seemed embarassed and whenever I used the above reason they were very easygoing about taking the open return.
