G1 Menasor Problem

Postby GrinningGrendel » Sat Aug 18, 2012 9:49 pm

So, I've recently fallen in love with G1 toys, particularly combiners. And, after a lot of hesitation and rationalizing, I eventually caved in and bought a complete G1 Menasor (w/ metal chests).

The only problem is, in combiner-mode he constantly leans forward like he's about to face-plant. This issue seems to be caused by his right leg (Dead End), which is where he leans in the worst. When his arms are extended forward, he can't stand at all.

I'm wondering if this is a design flaw with all G1 Menasor figures or (worst-case scenerio) it's symptomatic of a knock-off. Maybe my shelf is just uneven? :(

Motto: "Power to the strong and the right!"
Weapon: Plasma Cannon
Use the following

Arms: Dragstrip and Breakdown
Legs: Deadend and Wildrider.

This formation in my version seems more stable.

My Menasor is solid as a brick.

There are a couple of things you can do to make sure yours is more stable.

1)If your new to g1, actually make sure that every part is present. In particular the waist connector which strengthens and straightens the legs.

2) make sure that Motormasters feet (the truck cab) are locked into the back of Menasor so that his center of gravity is stable.

3) The beauty of Scramble city styled combiners is that you can change the limbs around. Personally for me Breakdown and Wildrider are the legs, and Deadend is the left arm. I have them so that the roofs and hoods of the cars are facing out instead of thier chests.

You should at least give this combination a go because it seems that ultimately your problem is a loose Deadend connector/head. I hope this helps out.

Well, MY Menasor kisses the concrete like he's in love with it.

The "knees" are just really loose, always have been. If the floor is uneven, or a gentle breeze blows in, he falls over.

It happens, some of my toys are tight and stiff, others flop all over the place... the amount of play or wear seems to have nothing to do with it sometimes.

I also use Dead End and Wildrider as the legs and i too switch them around so the hoods are facing out. I have a very minor forward leaning problem as well and this does the trick for me.

I looks a little better too. IMO
