Help Authenticating A Real Transformer from a KO

Postby Wheeljack-S70 » Wed Sep 26, 2007 7:01 am

Parts of Computron are stamped Hasboro/Takara Co 1986, but instead of Japan they say they are from Macau.
Are these guys still legit or are they knock offs?

Please Help if you have an answer.

thanks in advance!

Hasbro/Takara have switched production facilities quite often. The only three I can think of is Japan (originally), Macau and China. So they're still legit. It's when they don't have copyright info at all that they're fake.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Are there any KO's that do have copyright stamps, out of interest?

That might mean my Constructicons are genuine, then, as I'm 99% certain they're stamped.

Most straight up KO's don't have stamps or markings. However, re-tooled ones may, for example the '80's KO toy company Four Star. They re-tooled the Constructicons, seeker jets, and the Insecticons and they have copyright markings.

However, they look different.

In what way do they look different? Is it obvious?

I love Four Star KO toys, they are great looking.

Bombshell I

Bombshell II

Kickback

Great resource: http://www.toyarchive.com/

The seekers are on a different person's webpage. I thought it was Saber Prime's but after going through his, they aren't there.

If you want them, I'll look for them later after I get home.

Yes, they look very different! Ah, well, none of those Constructicons are the same as mine.

So Macau did have a purpose before becoming the largest Casino/gambling site in the world... who knew?

A lot of toys were made there. Not only transformers. Most of my old Matchboxes are made in macau and they were way better that the ones from China that time
