Ubuntu won't work on a MacBook, it just goes into Kernel Panic.
I've tried
Laptop or MacBook?

Then you did something wrong. It works fine on a Mac Book.

I broke down and got a Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop for my wife for her graduation. I talked to Mac and they said networking won't be an issue. I just need to put iTunes onto her laptop. She mainly wants it to play WOW and whatnot.
It should be here in a few days.
IT is soo much cheaper than a Macbook Pro.
I've never bought a nonMac pc b4, so this is all new to me. I only want to use her laptop, if we're on long flights or whatnot.
Do any of you have nay pointers for me networking my home G4 Mac with the new Dell? The Dell is running XP, and my Mac is running OS 10.3.9.
Thanx in advance.

I just purchased a Dell 1521 Inspiron Notebook
160 Gig HD
15.4 inch screen
2 G Mem
1.9ghz processor
etc
for just barely over 1K, not too bad I don't think.

Are you going to inject her with HIV positive blood while you're at it?

Well that was non-constructive.
The master PC is the G4Mac with over 50 GBs of music on it.
Why the H&ll would I use any other Music program?!?
I mean, you hook up an iPod, and it will need to iTunes to open anyway...
