PRIME ULtra Magnus!!

So I read just somewhere that Ultra Magnus will be in the final season of Prime.
Now which toy of him will you get?
Which Toy do you think will be the best representation?

That's a good question actually. I have it narrowed down to 3 of the 4 available choices (I know, quite a feat):
- Prime RiD Voyager Ultra Magnus
- Arms Micron Ultra Magnus
- Beast Hunters Voyager Ultra Magnus
I'm skipping the Platinum Weaponizer, he's simply too big. Unique mold with floppy shoulders, or retool.

I think Beast hunter will be the most accurate. I simply think that because they Probably developed the Unique mold with floppy shoulders UM before they wrote season 3 right? Or no? too bad I already have 2 versions of that mold... =/

I guess it helps I don't have a regular figure for Optimus Prime yet (for shame!), aside from the Shining one. I may track down a First Edition for him, so I'm free to get either UM mold.

Hmmm...
I already own the R.I.D Voyager and he's not all that good. He's not bad but his not really good either. Not sure the Micron warrants an additional purchase specially not at the import prices. I'll wait until its released on its own or in another set as they seem to be doing with microns.
I really don't like the Weaponizer Prime Mold, but that Forge is really tempting.
I might pick up the Voyager Prime Retool, but its not a must own.

Re: PRIME ULtra Magnus!!

The first Prime mold is the most accurate to the model, so far. The head, torso and legs for sure. The shoulders are more accurate on the BH version, but that's it. Plus, I don't see any wings on Magnus in the show, so I'm not sure what that's all about.
I don't think I saw a Platinum Magnus figure so I'm kinda out of the loop on him.

*facepalms* THAT guy. I forgot all about him. Thank you for the pic and the refresher.
Shame, too. The legs are all hollowed out and the transformation is painfully simplistic. Plus, considering it's basically a $32.00 toy being repackaged as a $100.00, PASS.
Platinum series is just crazy. Especially when the molds being used aren't that great.

Fortunately, I don't have to make this decision, as a huge UM fan, I'll be getting all of his incarnation, lol. So far, I got the Prime Cyberverse and 2 Voyagers (love that mold so much I ended up getting 2). Once the BH and Platinum are out, they both will be in my collection.
TFP UM cartoon is mostly accurate to the IDW cover Rage of the Dinobots. In term of which toy is mostly accurate to the toon, probably the Platinum edition and this include the accurate color hammer as well. But then again, I may take some point off if he still retained that awful blue face. Of course the next one is the BH version. This is the image I created as a reference:

I hope you can remove the wings. If so, I might just get the Beast Hunters version and give him some paint work. As of right now, though, the PRID one (which I have) will do just fine.
I hope once the show is over, the toys continue. Whether in another subline or Generations, something along those lines...I'd like to see the toys continue. Even more so than Animated. I loved Animated, but it doesn't even compare to Prime.

I've already got the RiD version which is decent enough, although I might just have to get the BH voyager as well. Platinum Magnus does nothing for me, he's OK in bot mode but he's way out of scale with everything else in my prime collection.
I hope Takara release the voyager with better paint apps, then that's an easy buy IMO.

BH UM wing is removable. You can clear see it from the promo pic in MISB where the wing is place underneath the solus hammer.

Then I might just buy the remold. I had no reason to buy the PRID Optimus mold when I had First Edition, which imo is superior and it would've driven me nuts to have both of them... but with this being a completely different mold from the FE and is heavily remolded from the PRID version, I can justify buying it.
I'll just have to paint the daylights out of it.
I'll get rid of the other Magnus somehow.
EDIT: I got to thinking about some things...
I have to wonder if Optimus was the repaint of the mold and Magnus was originally the intended figure... Kinda like how Dreadwing used the mold first, then Skyquake.
The mold fits Optimus okay, but it clearly works leaps and bounds better as Ultra Magnus, whereas the First Edition fits Optimus much, much better. Of course that doesn't entirely work because of the PRID Magnus figure.
Unless they had plans to make the PRID design the in show design and something fell through, or much like First Edition to PRID, they made an extra mold of the same character "just because"...
I dunno. It's just been a very odd progression with this line.

This is probably a similar case of "Wolfang vs. Tigatron" during Beast Wars. Wolfang was originally meant to be stationed in the snowy regions in the Beast Wars cartoon, but since Tigatron only needed some tweaks from the Cheetor model, they went with him instead. Expensive new model vs. the more economical tweaking.

If he's only going to stand on a shelf in robot mode, perhaps. But this mold is a pile of fail.
In truck mode, everything from behind the top of the cab to the rear bumper (well, if there were anything resembling a rear bumper) is a train wreck of kibble. As a robot, the arms just don't fix very securely to the torso; and the gimmick makes the figure really back-heavy.
This might be forgivable if the transformation really was simplified; but it's not. Not enough, anyway. The way the arms work is awkward and fiddly.

Can you post the pic of BH UM in his packaging? I think I remember seeing it earlier but can't really remember. I agree that I'll probably get this version if the wings are removable...especially to get the Forge of Solus Prime. The stock photos show that it has next to no paint apps. Hopefully Reprolabels will come to the rescue or I'll have to paint it myself. Thanks!

Also, the Platinum Edition looks like the more accurate Forge in terms of paint and scale.

Thanks Pryme! I knew I had seen it before and the wings are definitely removable. I'll be picking this guy up when I find him. I don't have too many Ultra Magni in my collection and that's a shame. I do realize that the Platinum edition will have the most accurate and BA looking Forge of Solus Prime. However, I really hate the OP Weaponizer mold and don't want to buy the figure just for that. I might consider getting him except that I'm guessing the Platinum Edition will be relatively expensive (around $50 or so?) and that's too much for just the Forge. Again, thank you very much! This helped me make a decision!
