Ok this is not to be taken offensively I just had a rare stroke of genius.
Locusts: ok so these little buggers eat stuff(understatment) and love plants, now wouldn't it be logical by bug standards to go to were the biggest food source is, so this was an act of nature.
Frogs: ok so remember the Earthquake in China look up the connection these little guys have with it. Also you may want to study the proven, yet unexepted, fact that animals know of oncoming natural disasters(look up infrasound).
Fireballs(don't remember the exact name): a meteor shower, and the reason for the frogs.
Lice or gnats: ok so the Eygptians were in a "confined space" and are living in close quarters right, so stuff like lice would spread rapidly.
Disease on livestock: same as the lice.
Unhealable boils: same as the lice.
Darkness: an solar eclipse most likely.
Blood Water: possible volcsnic activity from somewere further up.

There's always natural explanations for all these things. They happened, right? It's just the coincidence of the whole thing.
I heard they had an explanation for the crossing of the Red Sea.

Re: The 10 Plagues: DISPROVED(or at least most of them)
I'm digging deep in the memory banks on this one, but Moses actually parted the Reed Sea, not the Red Sea.
Taken from Wikipedia:
There is some contention about this passage, since an earlier incorrect translation of yam suph to Red Sea was later found to have meant Reed Sea.
Taken from http://www.cresourcei.org/yamsuph.html:
The translation "Red Sea" is simply a traditional translation introduced into English by the King James Version through the second century BC Greek Septuagint and the later Latin Vulgate. It then became a traditional translation of the Hebrew terms. However, many modern translations either translate yam suph as "Sea of Reeds" or use the traditional translation and add a footnote for the Hebrew meaning.
Thus ends the lecture.

Yeah, I spoke with some...*ahem* associates... who told me the real ten plagues. It's really quite simple, you're going to kind of laugh and slap yourself in the head when you find out.
I won't name names, but one of the real plagues rhymes with Schmonald Trump.

Wow so many replies in so little time, cool.
Glad to see you all have good points on this.
as for the Red Sea the only thing I have on that one as of now is something to do with the volcano as well.

Nah, it's definately the 'reed sea' or 'sea of reeds'. I watched a teevee show once where they were explaining that this huge lake (easily construed as a sea when you think the world's about a tenth of the size it really turned out to be) had some crazy tide that actually drained part of it every now and then, and it mapped out pretty close to where the exodus story would probably have taken place. It blew my mind at the time, must have been 5 or 6 years back.

Awesome, I would have loved that TV show. I really like shows in which they feature stuff that sounds like out of a sci-fi flick, and then prove it exists, must learn more of that.

Just cause you can find a natural explanation for the 10 plagues does not mean they are disproved. God IS nature. So I would think that doing things naturally would pretty much make complete sense.
And I have to mirror CP's POV on this. Talking about religion, especially suggesting that something may be wrong with it, is never a good thing.

Sorry for saying what I think, I do not mean to hurt anyone with what I said, although re reading it again I can see that it sounds pretty negative- OK its as negative as it can get.
I think I'll better delete it before this goes the way the Philosophy Forum went.
but I still don't believe in God or any religion.

No worries man, I was just addressing the topic in general. You are your own person, you can damn well believe whatever you want, thats your right. And there's nothing wrong with sharing your opinion on a subject. I just didn't want this to turn into something bad, cause sometimes its hard to keep an open mind if you find something offensive.

Yea I know, that's why I reread posts that I think mock me twice ore more now, I will never make the mistake I did back then again.
And i don't think I would have formulated that post the way I did, if I had some coffee before

Well poking holes in it made me stop believing in him.
But that created much lulz between me and my Religious Education teacher, still she gave me really good grades, I was class best in RE- yet the only one who didn't believe!

Re: The 10 Plagues: DISPROVED(or at least most of them)
I used to not believe in God, preferred the older Gods myself, but then I got a nice epiphany.
God, Thor, Zeus, Neptune, Ganesh, Allah, Yaweh, they're all the exact same thing. It really is.
Other than that, I've experienced enough messed up crap in past months where I can say without a doubt there is a divine presence, however you may look at it.

I would have enjoyed a Religion Class, messing with he teacher and whatnot.
Of course, we have Separation of Church and State, I.e. no preaching any particular religion in a state institution. Schools, for example, happen to be State institutions.

Yea it's also separated over here, RE teachers are trained by the church. And Every pupil gets a teacher of his belief, so the class is split up and everybody goes to his RE class, works perfect if you ask me.
