Music has always been a big part of Transformers in one way or another. Sometimes it's as simple as an episode title like Heavy Metal War. Sometimes it's as a song that defines a moment, character, or scene, like Instruments of Destruction. One thing you never really see, however, is a Transformers band. I guess the closest we've gotten (that I know of anyway) was the piano bot in Maccadam's Old Oil House.

Behold, what springs from the boredom that comes from being awake all night!

SO! Choosing from any universe/continuity/timeline, who would YOUR Transformers band members be, what would the band name be, and what genre of music would they play? Also, if you like, what would the first album be named? It's almost 6 am and I'm bored.

Personally, I would have a Nightwish-esque metal band, and they would be called Twinned Moonlight. Their first album would be titled "From Light to Rust" and the cover would be a shot of the band standing on a cliff, overlooking the Sea of Rust.

Thunderblast/Chromia from Transformers Cybertron/Galaxy Force would be on lead vocals. Mostly because her bio says that she used to lure sailors to their deaths by singing at them. From that we could figure that she's at least a decent singer, and she lured people in to kill them on some rocks. And while her personality doesn't match what most people think the lead singer of a metal band should be like, who says they all had to be brutal psychos who don't smile? I think some one who's giggling like a school girl while watching people die and get eaten by sharks is pretty metal.

On drums would be Ejector from Revenge of the Fallen. Might seem like a silly, but a little spaz with four arms is bound to be good at hitting stuff with sticks. He'd be no Rick Allen, but with a little self-control training he might be able to stop throwing flaming drumsticks into the crowd long enough to actually play the drums. It'd almost be like having Animal as a drummer.

On lead guitar I'd have Side Burn from RID. The guy is kind of a mixture of Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, so he'd love the time in the spotlight, and with how fast he could supposedly move, I'm sure he'd go through a few guitar picks before the end of his solo. Besides, you need someone flashy on lead guitar. Just add some DOTM style dreads on him and he could get in some epic headbanging too.

Sideswipe could make for an awesome second guitarist and backup vocals as well. He strikes me as some one who'd be good at doing a loud, growly voice that would be needed as a balance to the melodic tone Thunderblast McChromia would provide. Also he'd be gunning for Side Burn's job and they might end up switching out once in a while just so there's no arguing... which there would be anyway.

Not that I think they would use it much, but I'd have Beast Wars Insecticon set up as the bands DJ and keyboardist. His sensitivity to sound would make him an excellent mixer and he'd know just what to add in and at what moment. Not much metal bands make use of a DJ setup or a keyboard, but he'd still be there, chilling out on stage.

As for some support staff. I'd have BW Inferno setting up the Pyrotechnics (and having to fend off Ejector from playing with them). Beast Machines Strika would be their manager because if she can lead an army to victory, she can lead a metal band to some multi-platinum glory. Jazz would do what he does best and set up the lighting. And Skullgrin would act as the band mascot/body guard.

While typing this I put their toys on my desk, and they look HILARIOUS together! I need me some tiny instruments.

EDIT Now that I think about it, they'd probably use the keyboards a lot.

Got a couple ideas here...

1) Soundwave and Blaster would put their differences aside and form a Daft Punk-styled bamd where they remix tons of music together.

2) Railway and the Trainwrecks
This band consists of one of my Fan-Made formers,Railway, on Bass with Animated Soundwave on Lead Guitar and Armada Hot Shot on Drums, Cuz he sure knows how to JaAm. On vocals and guitar I would have another Fan-made former known as Radiowave. He's like Soundwave only less..."Computery"
