What else did you collect as a kid....
I remember being big into he-man, thundercats, gijoe, the usual others. but my favorites were dino riders, starcom, and jayce and the wheeled warriors. i remember i had a steel monsters truck too, kind of like mad max. that thing was awesome. who can forget battle beasts either? even though i didnt learn till later in life that they truly were part of the TF continuity, i was POSITIVE as a kid, along with my friends, that they were some kind of ally to the autobots and decepticons.

I'm still getting used to the fact that the 1986 movie takes place 3 years in the past now.

Master of the universe figures.
And something which is not going to do a lot to help me loose the name of "Poohy", I used to go around the paddocks and pick up daggs.
I had quite a collection.

Sugar packets.
When we used to go to restaurants and cafes and the like i would pick up a packet of sugar to add to my collection, i wouldn't eat them or anything, its just i was fascinated by them, i would also pick up sugar cubes and other types of sugar packets (like the coffee/brown sugar ones), i had a very full ice cream container full of them, but when we moved to NZ i had to leave them behind, i gave them to my granddad i remember, mainly cause he likes sugar in his hot drinks.

I collected a lot of different things when I was a kid.....rocks, rosaries, Smurfs (YES! SMURFS!), Matchbox cars, Stompers, kites, models of aircraft, comics, truancy tickets
, and my favorite was the obvious, since I am here!
I shook off all the other collections, but I just can't seem to get TFs outta my system!!

I was(still am) a huge card gamer. Collected Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon, even the cruddy Digimon. Toy-wise there was only Transformers and Beyblades.

And, oddest of all, I had a knack of collecting one-hit wonders before anyone knew they'd be one-hit wonders. I probably still have a bunch sitting about somewhere. Eifel 65, Los Del Rio, 2 Unlimited, all those guys loved me.
Currently collecting Sinclair Spectrum tapes. Yum.

I didn't so much collect as actually play with the non-TF toys when I was younger. Mostly collected action figures. I was a big X-men fan so most of my toys were X-men figures or various marvel figures (pre-legends series). I also had a sizable Ninja turtles collection plus the majority of the Toxic Crusaders line. Good memories.
Outside of Action figures, I have 3 sets of Megazords (Thunderzords, ninjazords, and shogunzords) as well as the entire set of Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad robots.

Re: What else did you collect as a kid....
Basicly as a kid I was at the mercy of what my parents would get me as what I wanted was irrelivent.
I did score though cause I lied Wheeled Warriors, and I got them often, however it was always KO Crusher.
My likes thought where Transformers, Wheeled Warriors, Voltron and GI Joe.
I had some later Robotech Invid mechs to, but never knew what they where as I never saw more than a few episodes of Robotech till Toonami came around.
Other things where the Centurion upgrade kits(never the figure) but those where cool cause they could at least be made into its own vehichile. Some Mask toys, Air Raders, and some GoDaikin stuff that was cool. Nothing youd see on a US shelf though, I never knew what it was.
My dad had some weird import export hookups. If I knew then, what I knew now, I would have been alot nicer to those.

Not in order of importance but pretty much chronologically...
Legos, not all the pre-fab garbage with little imagination but the big buckets of all sorts of sizes and shapes that you could build your own things.
Star Wars figures and vehicles and accessories ( Kicks self for getting rid of them a long time ago )
Star Trek ships and figures.
Star Trek ornaments the ships that hang on christmas trees.
G.I. Joe's
Transformers ( Transformers and Star Wars and Trek are the most important )

Best you can do with Barbies is, fill em up with dog food and chuck them at a dog or a fox, lovely!
I collected Spider-Man toys, gave up on those since my brothers kept taking them from my shelf and brake them.
Pokemon cards, Digimon cards, Yugioh cards, Duelmasters cards (the only cardgame I understood and was good in)
Goosebumps books, Transformers Spider-Man comics Transformers comics, the Legacy of Kain games, have em all now!
