True enuff but I thought I would get the gimick one out of way for this month. Although my favorite repeating thread has to be guess what I found at ______ yesterday thread.

I can't stand Pretenders. The worst part is I think that they would have been cool line of figures if they weren't TFs.

I'm going to tell them I learned about violence from the internet and video games.

Good one! Man, no one will ever see that one coming, and to top it all off it's a perfectly original and plausable answer!

Does anyone want to buy a concept Bumblebee from me? $25 + shipping.
Here we go with this again.... :D I went to the store and was shocked that scalpers had bought up all the toys, thusly taking them out of the hands of children. That sucks, becuase I needed a second LEader PRime for my MIB collection, since I already have one open on display.
Scalpers and MIB box people are causing global warming.

Real goths don't shop at Hot Topic, emos do.

But you know what I mean... Violent = Black-wearing, metal/industrial-listening, video game-playing, internet-community members. Fo' sho'.

Wow this has gone way off topic! How wonderful.
I've been thinking about this and I've decided the worst Transformers gimmick resides on this very site and it's not even a licensed product! Yes it's Heavy Metal War! What a total waste of time and effort! Christ knows why anyone still plays it!

I missed the water squirting and color changing gimmick .... but I think I might've liked those when I was in grade 2. I had a few color changing Hot Wheels (still have 'em, actually .... somewhere) and I loved water alot. As an adult, I don't much care for those things, though.
Now that I think on it, making a Punch/Counterpunch with a color change gimmick might go over pretty well.
I'd say the worst were Headmasters. The headmaster itself was pretty useless as all it did was change into a head .... and it was so small it was easy to lose. I loved Snaptrap, but lost his head. Luckily he was a beastformer, so he stayed in beast mode after that. It woulda sucked if he was a car though.
As for modern lines, Energon's combing gimmick was also pretty bad. The whole toy's design and aesthetic was compromised to make room for a combing gimmick that always looked wierd when you tried doing it.

Hrrrm? I wonder, what would become of the boards if we were left in control for a week?

Well that's obvious, it would quickly turn into this.

Yes! Headmasters were also a silly gimmick. Humanoids in exosuits that are meant to sit on top of a robot's shoulders with their ass in the air pretending to be a head. Genius.

Headmasters weren't that bad, I think one of the worst ones was the Hero Opt/Hero Megs' air-powered rockets... Never could force them to actually work...

Wow, I had no idea so many disliked cyber Planet keys. It's almost like they're getting more flak than the Automorph.

1) action masters - nuff said
2) pretender vehicles - aren't all transformers with vehicle alt modes pretender vehicles in essence?
3) headmasters - the robots were cool, but they tend to lose their heads
4) any battery-operated motorized action - cool for the first 5 seconds, then you get bored
5) auto-morph - just another opportunity to break your toy
as for the minicons, i'm not bothered with the concept. i'm more disturbed about how ridiculous my robot looks like with all these colorful small vehicles tacked everywhere. now, if hasbro could design them minicons to something similar to powermaster engines (attaches to robot, but looks part of the design scheme) that would be better.

Huh? It's like, a zillion times easier to lose a gun or a missile than a Headmaster. And Headmasters could actually PILOT the vehicle. I for one think it was the most brilliant gimmick : human merging with machine. And it worked, the heads actually look cool and the smaller robots as well. Not even counting the built-in tech spec meter.
Also, I don't get your "all it did was change into a head". That's like saying all Bumblebee does is turning into a car. Dumb, isn't it?
