That actually scares the crap out of me too. I could be in the wrong place in the world and be killed simply because of my race, gender, or dress just because of someone's religion. Scary.

There is nothing that terrifies me.

I was afraid of Spiders, but no longer. I let them chill in my room, until they move where I can reach them. Then they die.

I was afraid of Zombies, but not anymore. If zombies were to happen, they would be the slow Romero zombies, so I wouldn't have to worry. If they are the mystical zombies. Well that just mean magic has shown up in the world, and I'm only one step away from getting super powers.

Death? I welcome it. I know it will happen eventually. But I know death is not permanent. Death is but a doorway, time is but a window.

I have no worries about war. I know what to do if it comes down to that.

Major disaster, I'm not worried.

I think the only thing, at the moment, that really worries me, is if I'm going to pass this retarded Astronomy class I'm taking or not.

The only other thing I can think of. Is something bad happening to friends and family and me not being able to do anything about it.

Lessee, what am I afraid of? Hmm, that is and isn't a tough question to answer. I'm afraid of what's in the dark, not the dark itself but of what could be hiding in it. It scares the hell out of me and more than once I've gotten up to make sure that I'm the only one in the room. Open closets; I hate open closets and I've got no idea why. (Unfortunately my closet hasn't had it's doors on for months now and that is helping me get over this irrational fear but it still makes going to sleep tough.) Clowns. When I was little my grandmother had a big picture of a clown in her living room and one night I went out there and swore its teeth grew into needles. I'm afraid of pointy things near my eyes. Just the thought of pointy things near my eyes is enough to make them itch; again I don't know why I'm afraid of this. Blood. I turn green, get woozy, or start crying. I can handle bloody noses, cuts, and scrapes but if I see blood coming out of someone on purpose - like at a blood drive - then I freak out. I found this out when I went to go give blood. Never again. Aliens and alien abduction; there's a reason for this located somewhere in my childhood I'm sure (damn E.T., freaky lil thing). And no, I've never been abducted or seen aliens. At least in real life. Something separating me from my sister and brother.

That's about it for me that I can remember at the moment. I usually only find out I'm afraid of something when I'm faced with it, like most normal people.

I fear nothing.

Except the fear of being alone.

Thankfully, I have a grand team to keep me company, here and in RL

I don't like open closets either. I won't sleep with my bathroom door open. I HATE moths. Once at a Relay for Life, some random kid chased me two an hour with the hugest moth I'd ever seen. I don't know why he targeted me, but the little sh*t wouldn't leave me alone! It's like he knew!

Fear of the unknown. That's the greatest one. Sometimes it stops me from moving on bringing about my terrible problem of second-guessing my actions.

That's more deserving for the "So who here is crazy?" thread but that's all I've got. There's little things that bug me [bugs for instance] but its not really a fear. I like to think I have a very high constitution because nothing no matter how oddly gross, gorey, etc, can make me so much as kringe.

But fear of the unknown is the biggun'. I think it goes for most people as well because it applies to so many things.

I fear dimemberment, and that one second in combat (if I ever see it,I hope I don't)where you turn around and see four jihad cases about to shoot you and you freeze out of fear right before they kill you.

nope...it is much deeper than that. It has to do with a learning problem. When I was a kid, I was diagnosed to having an Auditory Processing Disorder. My ears are fine...it is the wiring to the brain that can make sounds come out strange. Actually, my ears have acute hearing abilities. I was teased about this throughout my life. Now, that I am studying to become a teacher, I am working to get over it.

I can honestly say that I have no real fear of anything, and that I have only ever been truly scared one time, in my whole life.

Snorkeling way out in the ocean, with nothing but the deepest, coldest green all around me, nothing but absolute silence. Freaky stuff, that and there was a giant whirlpool not a 2 miles away.

I can hear sounds fine, but I can't understands words very well. It sounds like mumbling a lot. I just tell people I'm hard of hearing.

I am afraid of that dead chick from The Grudge. Ever since I saw that movie, I have been afraid to sleep in total darkness. I am also afraid of murderers coming into my house. When I hear a noise at night, it scares me.

Aside from the age-old fear of dying alone, which I'm pretty sure all of us are scared of, I also run **** scared from spiders, moths, and all those assorted gribbly things. I'm pretty bad with heights, and flying. But my weird one is stagnant water. I'm fine with rivers and the like. They're beautiful things to see, in the countryside when they're cleaner. But lakes, ponds, and the like, they fill me with an un-Godly dread and panic. I really, really hate.
Also, over here there's a nice big gardens thing beside the museum, with all the different trees and whatnot. But there's also a tropical house, which is just a mssive greenhouse decked out with rainforest trees, some ponds with koi carp(?) and some other tropical trappings. The whole thing just gives me the willies, but it's also really beautiful. So I keep going back, even though it genuinely freaks me out. Weird one.

I also fear the unknown and have been scared to move on because the what ifs hit me.

Something happening to my children. There are so many different things that can happen to children that it scares me. Jessica has a little bed in our room she sleeps in. What if there is a fire or what if someone breaks into our home to steal my baby. It is scary the number of times that has happened. It terrifies me knowing there are truly evil people out there that like to kill for the pleasure of it. Here in Missouri there was a teenager kidnapped as he got off the bus. When someone called in a tip that they saw the boy the police went to the apartment. There they found the boy that was taken and another boy that was kidnapped a few years earlier. It was wonderful that they were found alive but sickening what that man did to those boys. I fear even for my teenager. He thinks he is invincible but he has no idea of what some people are capable of.

Spiders fill me with a feeling of hate, which usually ends up with the spider being a brown smudge on the wall.

...I thought bug was just a broad general term for any kind of creepy-crawly......you know, kinda like how germ is a generalization for both viruses & bacteria......
