What's wrong with Voyager size Starscream?

Postby gjk13 » Wed Jul 25, 2007 11:14 pm

I've been hearing complaints about voyager Starscreams size and that he should be Leader class. I think he's the perfect size compared to Leader Prime and Megatron.

My major complaint is that his body looks like a giant brick. It's just so blocky and bulky. He looks ridiculous with that body and that alone is why I refuse to buy him.

I think my voyager starscream is simply awesome but id like to see a leader class figure and i have to make my disdain known that i dont think that brawl should have gotten a leader class
Leadership is an easy job all you need is to be strong and have people who are devoted to you

Are you kidding? Did you see the size comparison pictures posted here a few days ago, Starscream should've been almost twice the size of prime.

I agree, especially movie wise... he needs more detail... otherwise he just stands out with wires covered with bits of steel...

And you can see his head in alt mode.

He's good, his size is fine - his head and hands(or lack there of) are his flaws.

Love his bird legs though.

I dont think a leader class Starscream would make any difference to his proportions. The bigger you make him the bigger his upper torso will get and then he really would look too wide.

I think the reason that Brawl gets a leader make over is because his body makes it easier to hide gimmicks and electronic rubbish.

I would much rather they leave out the electronics and paid more attention to adding decent detail. Extra little bits of transformation that has panels deform or split to reveal more mechanical detail. I get sick of great big lumps of solid plastic with one flat colour.

That was my entire problem right there. Well, on top of how choppy I think the alt form looks. When I was looking at it and noticed his head sticking out the tail like that I started cackling like someone insane. Seriously. And it's especially great because it's such an ANGRY face.

'Rahaha, you can't see me!' That's what it looked like. I'm still laughing. Dang.

Are you kidding? Have you seen how HUGE an F22 is? The F22 is one of the largest fighter jets, if not THE largest fighter jet ever made. It's bigger than the F111 I believe. Compared to a jet liner, it's probably around half the length of a jet liner like a 737. In real life it would be as tall as Brawl standing on Optimus Prime's shoulders.

In the one movie scene where he swoops downs, transforms into a bot to lob a few shots and then flies off again (my favourite scene because it's true to Starscream's character), you can see him tower above the Autobots. I think any scene like this where you can clearly see size comparisons, they need to reflect that in the size of the toys.

Furthermore, I think it's a disgrace to produce a "plane" alt mode that doesn't look like a plane. The lack of visible engines and aerodynamism is a crime IMO. Seeing the incredible MP3 Starscream, I think it is quite possible to come up with a very decent Leader Class SS.

I believe they were designed to fill the roll of both a fighter and a bomber. Their payload capacity is pretty up there, hence the size. But yeah, they're pretty big planes either way.

My main problem with Voyager Starscream is his lack of articulation. His legs hardly move at all, his arms move but awkwardly. And the whole no hands thing bugs me as well. I love his automorph though.
