I have a birthday arriving soon and I'm torn between a few big ticket items. I've narrowed it to the following options, but I'm having a hard time going past that point. I'd like to get them all eventually, so my biggest concern is which of the items will be more difficult and more expensive to come by a year down the road. Alternatively, please feel free to suggest your own combo around $250. The only caveat being that they have to be available from online retailers (no auction sites or forum sales).
Generations Metroplex + Hasbro Encore Skids ($210 after shipping)
Encore Fort Max ($257 after shipping)
MP Prowl, Lambor, & Wheeljack ($240 after shipping)
Thanks.

Choice number 2. That's what I would go with.
Really though, you can't go wrong with any of the choices! All are great!

Those really are amazing choices. However, if I had to choose, I'd go with the MP's.

If you're concerned with what will be more available in a year, you should probably pick up Fort Max now. Otherwise, the MPs are the way to go.

I'd pick the Masterpiece figures. They dont take up a room, you can place them anywhere and they really are top notch designs.

Those are probably all an even gamble in regards to what will appreciate the most in the next couple years. That's a very, very tough thing to judge. Never know when something will get re-released, or what will suddenly have more or less demand for one reason or another. I'd say go with whichever you're most into.
If you're more of a Generations/Classics collector, hit up the first one, that Metroplex is great.
If you're more into the Masterpiece line, or looking to get into it, the last one will blow you away.
If you're really into G1 nostalgia, and bases especially, and you don't have any version of the mold (Brave Max, etc), then Fort Max will be a blast and a half and make you feel like you're a kid again for days.

if the MP line-up were wheeljack/BB/prowl, id go MP. nothing against lambor, but i just didnt find him as impressive as the rest. and BB just blew my socks off.
MP's aside, i would totally go for a fort max. if youre a G1 fan, that giant hunk of robot will satisfy you to the core

How about Metroplex and MP Wheeljack. Mix it up. That come in around $220ish (if from BBTS)
I skipped Metro when he was at retail, I don't think they are going get to any cheaper from here on out. although a re-release is possible. I see Fort Max hanging around for a while, but I'm no expert. Either way, Metro and Max scale well with Deluxes, and It's always fun to have a battle station.
If you don't have any MP's, Jack is a great place to start. He's got everything good about the MP line in one package.
But you do what will be most fun for you. they are all great toys.

Re: Which would you choose? (Bday present help)
I appreciate the input. Maybe because I've never owned a large TF, I keep coming back to wanting Fort Max and Metroplex the most. Being that Max is the more expensive of the two and on clearance, he is seemingly the wiser choice. I have a feeling that Metroplex will be around for a while and if the stock ever runs low, it's easier to scrounge $150 than $250. I'll update y'all after the BIG day.

I'd also go with Titan Metroplex and delete the reissue.
Think Cobotron came up with a decent number one category of mixing a Titan toy with a MP toy.
