It's Optimus Prime vs. Optimus Primal, gentlemen. The Ionic vs. the Ironic(looks). Who will win?

Come on this is a no brainer Optimus Prime wins easily over Optimus Primal. Optimus Primal may have been a powerfull warrior when compared to the beast wars transformers but when compared to the origional transformers he would be a medium level character at best maybe comparable to say either Soundwave or Blaster.

PRIME WOULD DESTROY PRIMAL BECAUSE HE OUT SIZES, OUT GUNS, AND COULD OUT RUN PRIMAL. THE ONLY EDGE THAT I WOULD GIVE TO PRIME MIGHT BE SMARTS.

i think it's a consensus that the iconic G1 Prime would take the ironic quadchanger turned fury prophet

but a fight with Soundwave could be interesting :-?

If Prime and Optimal were the same size I think Primal would kick the crap out of Prime and his stupid theme song.

Though as is, Prime would win... barely.

You guys seem to forget that Maximals are more state of the art then there G1 ancestors, much less if we are talking Optimal Optimus in his TransMetal carried Prime's spark form.

Now that's not to say the Primal would win but I doubt it would be as much as a blowout (no pun intended) as everyone may think.

i think Primal only held the spark for one episode (only the time to repair Primes face)

Primal's frame was influenced by Prime's spark and the temperal anomoly it represented. He's not exactly a fussion of the two mechs. Considering the advancements in TF tech as a whole, the Maximals were little more than the Micromaster and Powermaster Techs combined into an easy bake Protoform.

If Opti^2 was the same size as G1 it should go the other way though. Atleast I think me a GalvatronPrime agree on that.

Actually I disagree even if Prime and Primal were the same size lets go one step further and say Primal was the larger of the two, Prime would still win just way too powerfull for Primal to handle besides both Optimus Prime and Megatron have defeated transformers several times their size.(examples Predaking and Devastator}Megatron has repeatedly defeated Grimlock one on one not to mention all the Dinobots at once and each one with the exception of Swoop is considerably larger than Megatron. Optimus Prime has also proven that he is capable of taking on a large number of Decepticons and emerging victoriously, I have yet to see Primal do any of that. Optimus Prime definately wins.

Primal never had anyone to take on that was really larger than him except for maybe Tankor and BM Megs in Optimal's old body, both of which he ended up taking down in, possibly, his second weakest body he ever had, you can't really say Primal couldn't take down a bigger target.

Also as Rampage has demonstrated, BW TFs are armed with weapons equal if not better than G1 TFs.

There were many occasions between BW and BM that Primal has taken down every Con there were to take down at the given time. Not to mention hordes of Vehicon drones.

If he is in his Optimal body Primal has the advantage of air support as well, not to mention fire power.

Optimal was a merger of G1 and BW tech so he was an advanced high breed while Prime is old and clunky.

The only real ace in the Prime would have in a fight would be the power of the matrix which wouldn't work against Primal.

guy it's a no brainer while primal my be smarter prime has a better understandin of battle tactics and more fire power even if they where the same size prime would win

one on one Prime Hands down Prime Will outlast Primal and he will have to revert to beast mode then he will have to surrender. Prime wont take advantage
