Ok, I don't know why exactly why I'm so annoyed with this thread but I am. I will keep it civil though. Firstly, your opening sentence of the first post is quite perplexing to me. "Sorry to get your hopes up but my camera crapped out on me at the last second and once I put the wheels in motion for the post to be created, there's just no stopping it. Once the post is started, theres just no turning back... pictures or no pictures." I paraphrased of course but I'm guessing this is your meaning. Did you post to simply tell us that you had nothing to post but there might be something to post in two weeks?? I, for one, appreciate this update.
The second puzzling thing to me is that you said your pics will be posted in a "bit" which is apparently equal to "one or two weeks" and then proceed to accept "reasonable tips", whatever that means, and make an inquiry about decals. So, now I wonder, is this Prowl repaint even done or not? Are you updating the board to inform us that you were going to post pics of a repaint thats not even done until your camera crapped out at the last second? I'm not sure whats happening here.
Thirdly, now we fast forward nearly 8 MONTHS later!!! Theres another post that essentially says that there is nothing to post. You moved, lost your camera, still no pictures. Thats tough luck there, sorry about that. But are the non-updates really necessary? Did you ever get the decals? Is the thing even done?? Do you think that people have been on the edge of their seats for 8 months to see this re-paint?? I'm sure you are proud and excited about your first re-paint and that is a good thing. Good for you. But nobody needs an 8-month dragged out affair of non-information.
This is a simple process that is really hard to mess up. Step 1: re-paint a transformer. Step 2: take pictures of the re-painted transformer. Step 3: post the pictures for all of us to see. And thats it. Thats the whole process. Now if you have questions about paint techniques or decals or whatever then thats fine too. But do everybody a favor and make the subject of your thread and the body of your thread relevent to each other. Quite frankly, I'm not sure if the first post of the thread is you telling us that your done with your re-paint and the pics are coming soon or if you are seeking advice on how to finish your re-paint.
I don't mean any offense or disrespect and I don't want to dampen the mood of your big unveiling. If and when you get the pictures posted; people, including myself, will be happy to look at them and leave our comments and compliments. Thats why we come to this particular board. We enjoy looking at other people's creativity. Just please get on with it already. Post the pictures or wait until you're done with the project to tell us about it.
