Anyone else pick up this Toys R US Japan exclusive? I just purchased recently and now wonder if I got suckered with the "Rare" aspect of it. So is it all that rare? Does anyone else own it?

Comes with Coby.

And Sonic Bomber.

It's more difficult to find than anything else. Not everyone wants to part with theirs cause it is a pretty cool set..

I think. There are others that are more well-versed in AEC than I am, but the main reason it's so wanted is because of that Cody. That set is the only way you can get Rumble with the robot head that isn't bug-like.

It's still a TRU exclusive in Japan so it also has that behind it. I wish I knew the production numbers, but as far as rare is concerned, there are definitely rarer AEC figues out there if that makes sense.

That makes sense. I saw this variant of this mold, blue scrapmetal go for almost $100 shipped on eBay.

What's so special about this mold? Excuse my ignorance.

The US only got the Red and yellow versions. Blue is rare cause it's Takara only.

I still need the blue one myself.

So do I. I hope Sonokong has released a blue version for their Galaxy Force line in South Korea, same for Sonic Bomber.

Trivia: the version of the Sonic Bomber mold used in that set is the tweaked Hasbro version. The original Takara release had a misaligned nose guard on the head mold which was fixed for the Hasbro release.

it is mega rare and will be more rare as time goes on

not many were made and alot of people want it just like the black RiD fire convoy people want

but because they sell for ALOT of cash alot of us sadly cannot own them....

I'm a proud owner of this set. Picked it up a few years back for around $200USD. Worth every shiny Lincoln. The Coby Ramble is just the cherry on top.

Concerning the blue Ramble, it's not just that it was a Japan-only release, but G1-homage-lovers use him to represent Rumble/Frenzy(depending on your RIR/RIB bias) along with Cybertron Soundwave.

The Ramble/Scrapmetal molds are also delightful troop-builders, and make for intimidating swarms. :-B

I'd purport higher for MISB, but I'd have to research.

I got mine late 2008/2009-ish IIRC, MIB. The box was open but the figures had never been removed. Perhaps I overpaid, but I really wanted the set and they were/are fairly hard to come by. (As are most Japan TRU Exclusives, due mainly to the high covet-factor of Western collectors.)

Cybertron/Galaxy Force was a great line by-the-large, and this set is one of its high points. I'd recommend don't stop there, some truly good figures to be acquired. Cybertron Leader Prime, even the vanilla US version, is in high demand and goes for tough money nowadays.

Piss around on ebay and check, you see what I'm talking about.

I purchased mine for $150.00 complete, mint, displayed only. After reading various post, wasn't to bad of a deal. It truly is a bling of a display. Thanks to everyone for your feedback.

The price has been steady for the past years as far as I can tell. Back in 2005 I saw him at a convention NIB for €200 or $260. Too rich for my blood.

He's a great seller too.I've bought from him in the past. As of late he has been listing some pretty intense stuff, lotsa beast wars stuff (SQUEEEEE!)
