Hasbro has officially revealed a newly reimagined version of the legendary soundtrack from 1986's The Transformers: The Movie, and yes — Stan Bush is back.

Set for release on July 24, 2026, THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE: THE SOUNDTRACK - THE REFORMATTED EDITION features newly recorded and reimagined versions of classic tracks from the animated film that traumatized an entire generation of kids by killing Optimus Prime before they even finished their popcorn.

The album includes fresh takes on iconic songs like "The Touch," "Dare," "Nothing's Gonna Stand In Our Way," and "Dare to Be Stupid," along with a lineup of guest artists from across the rock and metal world. Most notably, Stan Bush returns four decades later to once again deliver new recordings of "The Touch" and "Dare."

Hasbro is tying the soundtrack into its ongoing "The Apology Tour" campaign celebrating the 40th anniversary of the film, which also includes the theatrical re-release of The Transformers: The Movie later this year.

Check out the full press release and track listing below.

Hasbro has collaborated with record label Reigning Phoenix Music to announce THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE: THE SOUNDTRACK - THE REFORMATTED EDITION, the fully reimagined official soundtrack for THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE from 1986, continuing Hasbro’s “The Apology Tour” in celebration of the film’s 40th anniversary.

THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE: THE SOUNDTRACK - THE REFORMATTED EDITION brings 10 re-recorded, reimagined tracks from the iconic film, including performances led by “The Knights of Unicron,” a band of world-class musicians featuring Gus Rios, Matt Harvey and Ross Sewage, with guest appearances by Stan Bush, Sebastian Bach, Brittney Slayes, Mark Osegueda, Francesco Cavalieri and Torch.

Stan Bush returns as the original voice behind several of the film’s most beloved songs, recording new versions of “The Touch” and “Dare” 40 years later.

Not gonna lie, that is pretty rad. I'll likely only have the budget for the limited theatrical run though. I'd always wanted to see it on the big screen, but couldn't on account of only being a bit over two months old at that time. Image

On a side note: Did you mean to necro an 11-yr old thread? ;)

Absolutely! I figured there had to be a thread about the Vinyl records from a while back. Too bad this thread doesn't also have discussions about the CDs and Cassettes as well. It should!
