Stupid question: Why does this mold get so much hate? I mean, it's by no means perfect, but for a helicopter TF, it's got a pretty ingenious transformation.

It's the hands and feet. That's why Skyhammer and, to a lesser extent, Tomahawk get praised. I still want him, especially the Evac repaint (repurposing as Blades). Why does he have to be so rare!

The only reason i hated mine was because he came with a missing tail fin
then i opened him and his rotor won't hold on his forearm it just keeps falling off
.
I bought a broken one off ebay for £3 for a tail fin replacement it would of cost double that to take him back to the shop i tried swapping the blades aswell but still has the same problem but at least he's complete

Yeah, I don't mind it, just hasbro runs with multiple re-paints of it is my only complaint.
When the first one came out "yeah, it's unique...oh, and now its not"

I got like 10 of these free with the 'Double Your Action' promotion. I thought he sucked pretty hard. The transformation was complex, but much more fiddly than enjoyable or interesting. And he's repulsive looking. I bet there were a lot of kids that were disappoint in the Toys for Tots program that year…

The arms are crap, the legs barely support him and look hideous, the rotor gimmick doesn't really work among other things.
Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Re: ROTF Blazemaster
The transformation is annoying, the blades don't stay up in bot mode like they're supposed to, he keeps falling over, and I'm not even sure what's going on with his arms (despite having nothing resembling a hand he has thumbs, but those just get covered anyway). I'm all for bizarre anatomy, but those arms are just doofy.
But I kinda like him... or rather the Tailwhip repaint. He goes nicely with Barricade and Smolder:

...usually.

LOL. It's like he's saying "Ooooooh, God!"
I'm glad I never bought this guy. Well, maybe I did and he's in a crate somewhere, but I never opened him.
EDIT: Ooooooo, I'm a "Transmetal Warrior" now. Sweet! Sounds way better than "Pretender".

I always thought this mold looked pretty bad, so I never got it. The vehicle mode looks good enough, but the robot mode looks kind of weird, and I hate the arms and legs.

I could have lived with the chicken legs...
... But the entire front of the copter just splitting in half and becoming these stubby, fat arms just always irritated me.
It's like the reverse of the transform scheme of Cybertron Evac, almost.

Re: ROTF Blazemaster
I'm with ya on supporting the figure. No, it's not perfect, but there's a certain uniqueness about it that I really like. Ok, I'll agree the hands are weird, but if you're going to have chicken legs, why not chicken wings too?
Another nice detail I like are the alternating "lights" on the side of the figure(red and white). This comes out way more in the Tailwhip repaint though.

i was pretty suped on this when it first came out
big disappointment with the way the rotors fall off the arm
was ready to buy the repaint into Evac but never saw it
the other target exclusive was passed on because i didnt want the one that came with it
yes tomahawk and skyhammer are way cooler
but if you can get him for a buck or two, grab him
the weirdness will be negated by the low price
