Mine was fine out of the package. I have played with him quite a bit
and thus far no breakage. A tip to preserve his leg joints is to
take a q-tip and dab some petroleum jelly into his joints and work
them around a bit. It keeps the plastic from gripping too hard
and breaking down the joint.
The toy is awfully fussy though and you have to work with him a bit
to figure out the steps that were left out of the instructions.

I bought one today and two of the ball sockets for his legs were cracked when I got him out of the package. Think I am going to try and fix them with some JB weld and hope that none of the others break. If not I will return him and get another. If that won sucks too keep doing the same until Hasbro gets the hint.

I must have been lucky.
Mine was the first picked of the shelf, and I didn't do a customary look over it or others to make sure I got the best one I could see.
The legs are fine, it transforms well, and the only problem of note was the connector was a bit stiff the first time swinging the post underneath.
It stand fine on it's own, and can even hang off of other figures in "Facehugger" mode.

It's alt mode is fine for Perceptor, but its robot mode would make one fugly Perceptor
