Some people...

Feel free to discuss anything about any of the thousands of Transformer toys here. Anything from Generation 1 all the way to the soon to be released, the never to be released or the hope to be released is fair game! Want to show off your stuff? Please post your's and see others in the Transformers Collections Forum.

Sometimes, I'll be reading reviews at Toys 'R' Us.com, and I'll just laugh. The reviews posted by parents are sometimes so...odd.

Warning and note: Remember, these reviews are by parents, not collectors. Also remember that I do not intend to insult anyone.

Once, I read a review saying Deluxe Movie 1 Bumblebee was impossible to transform, and even Mom and Dad couldn't transform it!

Here's one for Activators Optimus: my son got these for his 4th birthday and the box said a level 2 conversion. when we opened the box, my son couldnt even figure how to transform them. they are too hard for a 4 year old, and the pieces fall off to easy. Research and development should of done a better job!!!!

It's an Activator, people, not Unicron!

And one for FAB Bumblebee: We really thought we would be reliving the nostalgia of our childhood through our boys, who are obsessed with Transformers! However, the Transformer toys of today are junky and cheaply made! Why not bring back the same style of make and model for the Transformers of our day? Anyway, we agree with most of you saying that there is no way the "age apropriateness" given on the package is anywhere near what a child that age can actually do! Don't even get me on the Cybertron planet transformation...we felt we needed to go take a few engineering classes to do that one!
Good Luck!

This is a FAB! Also, of course Cybertron/Primus is hard to transform - it's for professional collectors!

Or this review of Robot Replicas The Fallen: it needs more weapons like a sword, gun.

If you want a sword and gun, get Optimus Prime!

And the final one, FAB Long Haul: I bought this for my son for his birthday and it was a bit easier to put together than another transformer I bought him (though both are rated 2 on the scale of how hard it is to put together) but it is so cheap. It falls apart at the slightest touch. Wheels fell off and a leg fell off. So cheaply made.

Ok...

I'll post more humorous ones as I find them.

I like that-
Deluxe Movie 1 Bumblebee was impossible to transform, and even Mom and Dad couldn't transform it!
.
I remeber when my Grandma bought me a G1 Omega Supreme when i was a kid. She thought it was impossible to transform and was amazed when I could do it. Some things never change...

Ahhh the wonderful reviews by parents... but yeah, I can see how some of them are hard to transform. The ROFT Sideswipe I got in the summer took a whiles to figure out how the fenders come out without breaking it off. This should be a sticky where people can post any funny reviews they find online!

From the ROTF Leader Optimus Prime on Wal-Mart.com:
3 adults FINALLY got it transformed into a truck. But once transformed my son tried to roll it on the floor and it totally popped apart and it couldn't roll. Very frustrating. It would not stay together as a truck at all! My husband had transformers as a child and said that they were not this hard to build.
AND
This transformer was purchased for our grandson, it said it was for ages 5 and up, 2 over the age of 50 and 1 33 year could not figure this thing out.
PLUS one guy says it took him almost a day to figure it out even with reading instructions.
Good stuff...

BAHAHAH
This is for Leader Megs at walmart
"My nine yr old son used all of his birthday money to buy this megatron and it was very hard to transform, even for a 48 yr old man. It is complicated, with complicated instructions and it is very stiff and hard to transform. On the third day a plastic piece broke off.It was very dissapointing and a waste of $50."
Poor kid, lol.

I always love reading these.
My personal fav:

RoTF Voyager Starscream
I think its not that realistic.I have seen better, but its not bad.Its fun but not better than the first one,it only has one missile the first one had more.

Before I read this, I never knew that number of missiles were a deciding factor in Transformers purchases.

Getting dressed is more complicated than transforming Bumblebee, I wonder if these people struggle with that too.

Just be glad none of these people ever got their hands on Masterpiece Megatron... There'd be an interesting review to read...
I imagine the review would go a little something like this:

"I bought this mangled pile of parts for my son, and it looked okay as a robot. We tried to transform it but couldn't do it. We called our friends over who had transformers as kids and asked them to help, but all four of them couldn't get it. After three hours we finally realized something: this toy turns into a gun! What self respecting parent would buy this toy for their children? It's a nightmare to transform and turns into a weapon! What were the designers thinking?"

Personally I find him less difficult and more time consuming, but I know there's even hardcore fans out there who can't figure the guy.

yeah, they're not for idiots. Parents are idiots!

I've also seen some crazy reviews about TFs but I can't be bothered to look for them. Amazon has some good ones.

In defence of the civilians, there are a lot of unnecessarily complicated transformers out there. Alternators and ROTF Mixmaster spring to mind. Even Movie Bonecrusher and Nightbeat are pains in the aft.

Modern poseability has a lot to do with it. Since in the old days, the movement of parts could actually be clues to the transformation. Spindly modern TF's like Nightbeat and Mixmaster can be annoying.

I know some of the wiseasses out there will say that Alternators are models/collectibles and not for kids but they are generally displayed in the toy section and parents understandably don't expect these toys to be so complicated. Let's be honest, those ties can be really annoying and that's just opening the packaging. Bottom line is, these things are toys and overcomplicated transformations and annoying packaging can really ruin the fun if it's some kid's birthday or Christmas.

Truth be told, what annoys me are people who have to belittle others for their amusement.
