The first wave of Deluxe figures (just standard Trek accessories, like the old time Playmates figures.) also available at $10.00 a piece. (Larger in size as well. Don't work with the playsets.)
The Enterprise with display base. $30.00
I bought the Enterprise and I have to admit, I'm sold now. I didn't care for the redesign of the ship, but upon closer inspection, you can clearly see they went for a melding of the original series and the refit Enterprise (movies 1-6) and it looks good.
When you press the bridge down, it activates lights, voices and sounds. This thing lights up like a Christmas tree. Wow. And it's the real voices of Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine to boot.
A beautiful display piece, and heckuva lot cheaper than waiting for the inevitable model and putting it together. (Although a model would be infinitely more satisfying.)
So if you're a Trek fan, they're out there and in full force.
I found mine at Wal-Mart, I'm not sure if other retailers have started carrying these yet.

How big is it? And would you recommend it to a casual Star Trek fan?

I have yet to measure it, and this is all just a guesstimation by sight (I don't have a ruler with me at the moment) but I'd say length wise, it's about 16 inches from the very front of the saucer section, to the very back tip of the nacelles.
Width, I'd say 7-8.5 inches at the saucer, 3.75 (G.I. Joe figure) to 4.25 for wingspan of the nacelles.
Height, from bottom of stardrive/secondary hull (where the base connects) to the top of the bridge is about 4.5-5.0 inches. From bottom of stardrive/2nd hull to top of nacelles is about 5.5-5.75 inches.
Weighs about 12-13 ounces, maybe a pound with display stand attached. The ship itself weighs about 10-12 ounces.
It's very light, and you don't get to assemble anything (which sucks, I love being able to assemble things like this) but it's nicely made, there's quite a bit of detail to it (though it doesn't have the "aztecing" panel design that the detailing on a model would, which does take away some of the detail and wow factor...)
But..
If you're a fan of Trek, you'll want this ship.
If you like the addition of Pine's and Quinto's voices (replicated nicely, without any loss of sound quality) plus the phaser sounds and new warp sound (yes, a new warp sound, doesn't sound like the old one at all.), you'll want this ship.
If you're a casual fan and it just looks good to you, I'd study the box long and hard before making your final decision. I kid you not, what you see on the box is exactly what you get. It says the final product may vary, but it doesn't seem to from what I can tell. (And I've studied mine with a fine tooth comb, simply because I was impressed with it.)
I'd consider myself a casual fan. (I have the movies, the entire series of Enterprise, and watch the rest on TV. I don't collect any of the toys, but I've always loved the ships.) And I felt it was buy worthy.
I look at it this way (and I'll get booed for this....lol) Buy it, try it, if you don't like it, return it.
Oh one very important note... don't let the box fool you, it's almost completely empty inside of that box. Just an absolute waste of space, really. At the bottom right of the box, the stand is twist tied down. (Yes, the dreaded ties. Luckily, they're easy as pie to remove. Hasbro should take a hint from Playmates.) At the upper right hand corner of the box, is the ship. (instructions are taped to the back panel of the insert.) The rest of the box (upper left, all of the left side, and bottom lower left to middle) is nothing but empty space.
The box fooled me, I was expecting it to come in massive pieces with snap together parts that would produce an item quite a bit bigger than it's box. Hah, how wrong I was.
Still, it's an impressive piece, and for $30.00 ain't too bad. I think they'll have a bit of trouble selling it at first, but once the movie hits, it should start flying off the shelves.
EDIT: Got my trusty tape measure out. Here are the exact dimensions:
Saucer: 7.2 inches.
Saucer to nacelle: 14.75
Nacelle wingspan (outer sides of nacelles, end to end): 4.25 at the thickest, 3.5 at the very end of the nacelles.
2nd hull to top of saucer (bridge): 3.0
2nd hull to top of nacelles: 3.0
2nd hull (cargo bay to deflector dish: 5.9
Ship on stand: 7.5 (taken from the highest point of the nacelles (highest point of the ship) down to the bottom of the base itself)
So not quite as big as I had originally thought. Still, don't let a couple of inches deter you, this thing is impressive.

I cbf to actually check for myself, but does anybody here know if they're planning on releasing model kits for this movie. I'd really like to have a kit of this new Enterprise and I was pissed that all I could find from 'Nemesis' was a poopy Scorpion fighter

No problem. I found myself sitting here for hours hitting the button watching it light up and make noise. (I actually looked at the clock and realized it was close to two hours...)
Heh, do what I did. I have MP Starscream sitting on his stand on top of my stereo speaker, I just put the Enterprise on the other speaker, basically like really cool book ends. lol
Have to with the extremely limited space I have.

Word of warning: While the playset pieces are fairly well done the 4" figures are utter compost; which makes the fact that you have to buy all of them to complete the playsets suck even more.

It should be noted that Pike has the taller stand.

I think she could be a tad more understanding. Obviously you haven't made toys the end all, be all of your life, otherwise she would've left you if that was the case.
I think she needs to take a chill pill. And you need to earn some extra time. Go take her to a chick flick she's been wanting to see, and learn to Crochet with her or something. (It works. lol)

Or just take her to another part of the store where she'll get interested in something, say "I'll be right back honey" and run off to the toy aisle.
Either that or have a kid, then you have an excuse to go down those aisles
(seriously, why else did people think I had a kid

I didn't realize how small these figures are compared to Star Wars who have small figures themselves

I'm curious as to how poseable these figures are, especially when it comes to leg poseability. The legs looks so small to me compared to virtually any modern figure line. They remind me more of some late 70's, early 80's figures.

And that was it. I don't know if he means after reset (because we're due for one, I believe...) or after the movie comes out...one of the two.
Glad I bought my Enterprise when I did.

The legs do bend but be careful with them when you do

Nuts; beat me to mentioning the Hot Wheels models. I was at a Target near me and saw a fair selection of the new Star Trek toys (but not a ton). It should be noted that Hot Wheels models where in a different isle that the rest of the Star Trek toys. The phasers, playsets, action figures were in one isle, but the Hot Wheels models where in the other isle (with the cars, etc).
I got the Enterprise-D from the Hotwheels line - love it!
