The Thundercracker toy is though, as he's based off the nitro zeus mold who also shares the feature. It's all based off a plan for the Last Knight film where nitro zeus was going to get Decapitated and cogman was going to transform into a head and take control of the body. While it never made it to the movie itself, the feature was in the toys.

This^ Aside from certain characters, core class exists so that parents/collectors have a cheaper alternative for a character. Outside of that price point, the other toys are adhering to a scale the best they can. Its mostly worked so far.

The point being made was not all figures from these lines are going to be to scale or only figures that appeared in the films. I know what the core class is for, didn't think i had to spell the rest out. Just adding on to o.supremes point

Not exact scale no, but you gotta allow for some leeway... but the idea of Core Class Ratchet being based on an animation error makes me think it wasn't all that unintentional

Oh I don't care about exact scale haha I think the core class figures are great for what they are, and some of them are done better than their larger counterparts. Scale for figures in most lines over the past few years has been pretty consistent

And it'd be pretty funny if they released ratchet first solely for that reason. Some dank humor in the tf world is always welcome

I like my TR Wheelie just fine, so I think I am good with him.

I did get my Sludge in tonight. My oh my I am enjoying him. He is exactly the chonkster I was hoping he would be. He is DENSE. He is a good figure. The transformation was pretty fun, and the dino mode is huge. He is really fun. Definitely leagues better than Slug.

That was pretty much my point. It makes no sense that Bumblebee and Cliffjumper are deluxe, while Wheelie ( roughly the same size) is a core - and all from TFTM.

Hasbro can do as they wish, which is fine, but the illusion that SS are so exactly on point as shown in animation is a proven fallacy.

Considering that SS86 started just to move TF:TM designs to when they added beast wars to kingdom, that wasn't ever true anyway (especially when Kup and Cliffjumper got more accurate releases in Buzzworthy)

Now let's say that Wheelie got moved to Deluxe..I think he'd be packing a lot of accessories to bulk out the price point.

Better Look at Studio Series 86 Wheelie

Postby william-james88 » Thu Jul 14, 2022 6:45 am

Motto: "'till All Are One"
Thanks to screencaps from Baidu of a yet to be seen 360 video, we now have a much better look at Studio Series 86 Wheelie and, well, you'll be the judge. Here we get to see Wheelie from all angles, and while he may look good from the front, we do see a butt flap at the sides and the robot hands are not hidden in alt mode. We have photos of the Titan Return toy below for you to compare to. It is interesting that Wheelie, of all characters, get two totally different attempts at G1 accurate toys in the recent past while all leader/voyager Optimus Primes are based on the same mold for the past four Generations toylines.

I don't think it's too bad for the price point :-? Can't see if there's pegs there in the legs for Grimlock Cross compatability.

TR Wheelie does still seem to be the better mold overall but last I looked online was a little pricey

86 Wheelie looks like it might scale a little better (looks smaller) and the robot mode proportions look better here than in the pic from before. The first pic we saw there looked like a lot of separation between torso and limbs and everything looked spindly and lanky and kinda thrown together. This looks nice enough, I'll be happy with it

I'm disappointed that as with SS86 Hot Rod, the fidelity to bot mode means the alt mode has obvious, visible bot parts. Here it's not just the back but also the front, which is very unfortunate. But as others mentioned, it's limited by the class, and it's achieving what it set out to do, so I'll definitely pick it up. I'll be holding onto the TR version for sure.

I can't see if there's pegs on the legs either, doesn't look like there are. Maybe that badonkadonk hoochie daddy butt flap has a little poker to put in the no-no hole on grimlock's/slug's shoulders
