You can take a horse to water, but you can't make it drink! I normally check the instructions when I think I've figured everything out but a lot of people just don't bother! Sometimes people buy things without instructions as well.

@thadicon, some features aren't always reflected in the instruction manuals.(Beachcombers' leg extension feature for example)

Bot mode. I'm pretty sure the release is in the hinges themselves and don't want to force the cannons out for fear of breaking something.

Just noticed on ROTF Demolisher, that when in shovel mode there are two small pegs on the bottoms of his cab rail/shoulder areas that peg into small holes in the rubber tracks.

Currently searching for Cybertron Supreme Starscream & G2 Go-Bots Megatron, Complete at good prices. PM if you can help please.

I'm no longer sure what the problem is. Don't they pop out automatically when you transform to bot mode? They can be folded away in bot mode with no problem and released with the cyber key.

Incorrect, that's the cannons on the arms.
As for the cannons over the shoulders, the catch for these is inside the planet halves. The mechanism is quite complicated, and I'm guessing it's reset once the halves are closed and the cannons are swung back.

And the thing is, the statement by the fellow is not even true as the vast majority of revelations in this thread are not in the instructions.

Oh sorry. What's the name of the thing that the cyber keys plug into? Planet key? That thingy that lights up when you use it to unlock the head and arms is what I was referring to.
So:
They can be folded away in bot mode with no problem and released with the big-key-thingy that unlocks the head/arms/leg-side-rotating-things. That doesn't seem very clear. If someone tells me what it's called I'll re post this!

The Omega Lock. far as I know the cannons can't be stowed & redeployed without closing the backpack, but then again I always displayed mine with the cannons out.

The propeller blade on the Combaticon helicopter limb (I've got the one from RID) can be removed without breaking it or anything, and appears to be intentionally removable. It took me years to discover that little feature.

One can simply fold the cannons away without affecting the backpack. To release them simply insert Omega Lock

It wasn't until I was researching in preparation for painting movie Brawl that I discovered what those shin spike things are for:

They're just for sticking out in a funny way. Tis a shame there's no peg to lock them in place.
