This was a difficult choice for me as I own a fair bit of everything...
#3. This is a hard one, but I'll say Cybertron (narrowly over Energon). Cybertron has a good variety of figures because of the different planets they come from. This is the series that brought an updated Soundwave and my favourite Optimus Prime figure, not to mention all the cool beasts and some cool new figures (Thunderblast & Sideways). I ended up buying practically everything from this series. Energon had some cool remakes (Galvatron, Shockblast), but Cybertron wins out.
Favourite figure would be CryoScourge. I like the blue repaint of Scourge. The transformation is simple, but I really like the look and I like the effects even, which is not too usual.
#2. G1 - I grew up with G1, and although people who know nothing about Transformers always tell me they look weird compared to the new ones, this is what started it all. This is where my childhood memories are. Most of these characters and figures went on to be recreated multiple times in many different series.
It's hard to pick a favourite figure, but I'll say Galvatron, with Soundwave a close second.
#1. Beast Wars - Although I grew up playing with G1, when Beast Wars came out and I was in University I loved it. The figures are very possable. I like how they can store their weapons in their alt modes (so you don't lose them). Lots of variations in the robots and beast modes. Plus they had an awesome show to promote the figures.
My favourite figure is TM2 Megatron. Even when I wasn't really into Transformers for a few years, I kept him out on display.

Not been on Seibertron for sometime. Nice thread idea Skywarp-2.
3. Binaltechs- fav BT-18 clear Mirage. The idea of clear toys is not new, but the execution in this instance is nothing short of legendary.
2. Masterpieces- fav Megatron MP-05. They finally solved his 'trigger groin' problem. What G1 Megatron should have been.
1. Transformers G1- To me, nothing beats G1 series 1 & 2, nothing. Can't really name a fav piece cos i like that all. heh

thanks, it's the idea that we as fans can express our love and our main toys that we consider the best from those series.. it's a nice way to get to know each other and what each of us likes far above the rest..that way when we see each other in different Threads, we can sort of know what the other would find interesting... nice picks by the way.. Alternaters I think have been relegated to a sub status because of their cancellation, it's nice to see that in a top 3, I didn't choose them because I don't own any, but I will some day..

Wow!! nice to see your vigilence in the Beast Wars department..very cool 10 points on keeping one figure no matter what!!

It's interesting that you chose G-1 Galvatron as a favorite, not many other collectors i feel give that toy a second Glance, i know until recently I wasn't all about him either.. but the Masterpiece Megatron gives me hope that we may see a really good rendition of him along side a Masterpiece Rodimus Prime..

Titaniums:
If they've got a weakness, it's that more than a few of them - looking at you, Soundwave - are pretty much not meant for display only. The toys may not be very high on the play scale, but there's a lot of lookers, and some great diversity here. What I wouldn't give to see those prototypes of Cosmos, Arcee and my main man Shockwave released.
#2: Classics:
A G1 fan's dream come true. Whereas in some cases you've got great takes on characters in new forms like Astrotrain, Bumblebee, and yes, even Nerfatron (who I still need to own), in others you have what could pretty much be called "The G1 figures we always imagined as kids." They're coming to kick your ass. They're getting closer G1 treatment in Japan. And they're coming back next year. Can you say "New Galvatron mold?" Can't wait.
#1: G1:
Bottom line for me: There's no other place I'd rather be, and there's no other line I'd rather collect. G1 forever, baby.
I'd just like to go on record again as saying I don't harbor any particular dislike for any of the new series. I love the BW show while considering the toys mostly passable, and while I don't think that Armada was the best series ever, and I never got into the toys, I do admire some designs, like Megs and Starscream. And I regret like hell not snapping up Unicron when I had the chance.
Masterpiece just barely misses out of being in my list. I don't yet own any form of MP Prime, Anniversary or otherwise, but I can vouch for Skywarp as a great figure. Megatron, while looking great, has too many problems to count, and so loses points for the line.
There's my list!
I completely agree with you on the titaniums, they aren't the best toys that art meant for play, I kinda think that as MISB display pieces is what they should have been left as, transforming them and playing with them sucks.. but the idea and the designs should be reproduced in thew classics or Universe line up in all plastic, and I agree the unproduced versions of Cosmos, Arcee, and shockwave would have been really cool..
You pretty much nailed classics on the head, they are a great series of toys, G-1 reimagined as they should have been..though I'm holding my breath to see a takara Silver black and red Maegatron nerf-atron...
Yes I agree G-1 is where it started, but as for me Masterpiece is where it ends, and yeah I also regret not knabbing Unicron!!!

great post!!!

Menbailee wrote:#3 Beast Wars
I had a rough time here deciding between Beast Wars and G1. I grew up with the originals, and they're near and dear to me. It's Beast Wars, though, that gave us the best toys, and if friends or visitors not into Transformers visit, it's always the Beast Wars toys that get the most love. Simply put, they're innovative, interesting, and terrific representations of characters.
#2 Alternators
G1 reincarnated into Transformers of a quality we never saw before and may never see again. The realistic vehicles and the articulation in robot mode can't be beaten. Visitors can't always tell Alternators from model cars. These are the only Transformers you can recognize regularly on the street--not even the movie Transformers can boast that. I might consider one of my customs a favorite, but Mirage probably takes the cake as the most articulated 'bot with the sleekest alt mode from Hasbro.
#1 Masterpiece
Let's face it: they deserve the name. I've owned the '04 20th Prime (with longer smokestacks), Ultra Magnus, Takara MP Starscream, and Megatron. I sold off 'Screamer when word of the G1-colored US release rolled in, and I'd choose him as favorite... except I can't do that in good conscience with a toy I don't own yet. Takara's version barely loses to MP Prime. Yeah, yeah, everyone's praised this toy already. Well, I either post him or my girlfriend's favorite, Ultimate Bumblebee. Ooh. Let's post Prime.
Yeah Beast Wars are a great series of toys, everyone I have that visits and eyes my collection is completely enthralled and preoccupied with them, they are just interesting toys!! something that is rare and unique..and barring cybertron, energon.. they are some of the best representations of the cartoon characters..
Alternaters are a sweet line and I'm glad to see that there are more people who give it love..and you are definitely right that they are probably the best and seamless versions fo transformers ever.. their altmodes are almost flawless!!
Yes, Masterpiece are the best.. it's the final ending of G-1 toys as far as I'm concerned.. alot of people say that classics is the updated G-1 as they should have been released, but here in the Masterpiece line we get the most accurate and best versions of the cartoon characters and theiur likeness ever.. Classics is updated G-1, but Masterpiece is Perfect G-1..
I own the MP-01 and to me that one is the best, I also own the 20th Anniversary.. the only reason i don't hold the 20th above the Takara Version is because of the smoke stacks, packaging, and the battle damage.. I like my Bots clean as if they just walked off the Teletran Repair assembly line.. they can get battle damage later.. the only plus is that the Hasbro one has the black gun as apposed to the greyish silver version.. but hey.. I could always switch them.. but I'm an MIB and MISB collector out of necessity so for now they stay in their packages...in storage

Very cool Guys!! this is what being on a forum is all about!!
