I grew up around Chicago! I still have family in Lake County. We looked into moving there but the cheapest home we could find was 250,000 dollars. Here we pay 80,000 for a much nicer house. I have seen tornado warnings way up north recently. They also get bonechilling cold and huge snowstorms. I have family in North Carolina that we plan on moving by one day. We will get to have fun dealing with the hurricains then
On the 10 o clock news they were live at a town that got hit by a tornado with a confirmed death.

Yeah, I'm glad to be living in Colorado now. The weather is far more consistent. Perpetualy cold, and either snowing, or extremely sunny (which mostly results in brighter snow, but occasionally melts it).

And the best part - we haven't had freezing rain here. At all. Just fluffy, powdery snow.

Yep, not planning on going back to Missouri any time soon.

Colorado was great! We were stationed at Ft Carson in Colorado Springs when my husband was in the military. The mountians were awesome.
