I will probably turn this into an article, but for those that missed out, you can still get the Throne of the Prims set for the same cost excluding the headache.

I just bought it here on amazon japan.



I get an extra duty fee because I am canadian but you yanks would only have to pay shipping.

My total comes out to $78,97 USD shipped (and customs cleared!)

For an American, the total would be $75,73 USD shipped, so cheaper than anyone paid today for their Throne of the Primes set.

Really? Whenever I have a problem like this Hasbro always gives me some kind of compensation. Once I emailed customer service about a bad defect on a Leader Class figure, and they told me to send me the toy and they would send me another Leader figure. They sent me a Primitive Skateboarding Optimus Prime.

But yeah, the Throne of the Primes is coming back in stock tomorrow anyway.

THEY SENT YOU NOT ONLY THE LEADER FIGURE YOU WANTED, BUT THE SKATEBOARDING POWERMASTER PRIME?!

Maybe this isn't so bad afterall.

I'm pretty sure he got the Primitive Skateboarding Optimus Prime instead of a replacement for the Leader class figure he originally purchased, not both. Still, that's technically an upgrade.

Oh no, I may have been misunderstood, we were all discussing about how we were conpensated in the case of defective toys, like the missing wheel I described. In both cases, we had to send Hasbr our actual toys in the mail for them to give us something back.

With these throne transactions, the whole point is that nothing happened. They will not be compensating us with free toys since we didnt buy anything after all. Aside from probably getting nothing, the only other thing we might get it a coupon for a small discount on a standard non sale and non exclusive item.

Yeah, I kind of figured that already, but the idea of it is so amazing I couldn't help but get hyped a little bit. It is quite a shame that this had to happen and for us to not get our figures, but who knows?

The only reason I even came to that type of conclusion was because the employee specifically said that it was on their part, even though you could argue it was just because we weren't fast enough. (despite the fact we had already got our product code for the order. )

Again, there's always the takara version on websites like BBTS & amazon japan, so I'm not too worried, yet.

But the Kremzeeks will prevail.

It seems like the demand for the Throne of the Primes set did to HTS what the annual Toy Fair does to TFW2005.

I personally wouldn't be too hyped for this set even if I had the money for it. Like, the Prime Masters are nice and the throne itself is okay (though I would kinda prefer if the entire wheel was visible and there wasn't a faction sigil)... but I have zero interest in Optimal Optimus in Optimus Primal's Original Colors. And since without him, what's left is a cardboard-and-acetate throne chair I could build an equivalent of without too much bother and some Prime Masters I could duplicate by customization for cheaper from retail ones (and actually have Decoy Armor to go with them into the bargain)... That kinda puts me off wanting the set, unless I had an arrangement to trade Primal for figures I actually want.

That being said, while the set as is isn't my cuppa, I can see why it appeals to others. And it sure seems to provide a counter to all the whinging that nobody at Hasbro in charge of Generations cares about Beast Wars anymore, because looking at this set somebody obviously seems to be really into not only BW but the "Optimus Primal is the Chosen One" thing too!

On the subject of Decoy Armors, which Pretenders do you think the set-exclusive Prime Masters would have been matched to for their Decoy Armors if they'd had a regular releaswe?
I can pin down at least who Amalgamous Prime would have been matched to based on mold: Waverider/Diver. Amalgamous uses the same mold as Micronus Ptime, and we know from the promotion for Legends Grand Maximus that the Waverider/Diver Decoy Armor exists as a retool of Micronus' Cloudburst/Phoenix armor.

I don't think that will happen, mostly because the people who are most frustrated are probably the people who wanted it the most. I don't think they would be willing to sell there only copy so fast.

Then again, who knows, anything can happen to anyone. Let's just hope for the best.

Yeah, that would just validate their methods. I already see some of the figures on eBay going for double the price. Hopefully no one will be dumb/desperate enough to buy them.

I used my laptop. Order went through without much difficulty. I had to reload pages a few times, but when I hit "Order" at the end, the payment processing took only seconds. I got my confirmation email from Hasbro Toy Shop a few minutes later, and my bank shows the proper charge on my statement. All seems to be well for me.

Nah, everyone just wants the exclusive Prime Masters. So troll the scalpers and release them individually, Hasbro.

They seem to have a flat rate of shipping. It was ¥1200 to ship to me in the US. Total came out to ¥8380($75) total for me. That is the least expensive I have seen it anywhere. Sure, it will take a lot longer to come here than most everywhere else, but it is going to be $10 cheaper than HTS and $20 cheaper than BigBadToyStore for me.


And...as I am typing this, it declined my credit card.

Edit: It appears to have accepted my other card. So crisis averted.

Really twisted day so far. Got to work at 7am eastern and had a tab open on my work computer, refreshing the Throne page. Came in stock at 12, took until around 12:08 before the "add to cart" button came up, and then the site was so sluggish it took until 12:19 for my order to register. Immediately got a Paypal receipt, but still haven't gotten a HTS confirmation email. And paypal shows the money as "pending" and I have an order page showing they accepted the cost and everything. and my order went through early enough compared to others who successfully got confirmation emails that it should be mine no problem.

They deal with the customs on their end so that should help you. Plus you can mark it as gift and not show the amount

UK and canada are quite similar in their strickness and amazon is my best option so it could be yours too. And Leo, when i get back on my laptop, i will post the link

Using that estimate, it would be about £59.28, without tax I should have as that goes over the custom's limit, so I think I'll be charged VAT on top of that...maybe a bit more. Actually, assuming that the shipping is a flat fee to the UK, I'll be looking at just under £72...

I too got as far as the order confirmation page with a real order number. I also found my credit card was charged but then immediately refunded.

I have resigned myself to have lost out on this one. Customer Service had no idea what was going on and was going to send it to their tech guys. I'm certain that really means the issue is now lost into a black hole.

Rather than getting too frustrated, I just emailed the CEO as a Hasbro shareholder. He really needs to improve that website.

Yeah, Europe is a little weird. But I have had items hang out in Customs for the US for weeks on end, so it is hard to say how this will work for me in the US. The fact that it is coming by a major international shipper means it should go right through customs.

As for your case, it sounds like the price is going to get out of control really fast.
