Anyway down to the Triggerhappy and remoulding debate - it's been pointed out by some that Missfire's details seem to be present on Triggerhappy's mould and indeed some of his Transformation too.

So It seems pretty likely that Triggerhappy is going to share some design elements with a future wave's Missfire. and I guess that may even be true of Slugslinger too.

Anyone seeing any Slugslinger pieces in him ? (aside from the leg Transformation and tail winglets that are also a feature or Missfire.

I'm kind keen to see if Hasbro has it in their minds to turn Mindwipe into something other than an animal such as a space craft for example. I think that would be interesting to see them do that.

I don't see anything on Triggerhappy that suggests Slugslinger, but I wouldn't be surprised by a complete Reshell to turn him into Slugslinger like Dead End > Streetwise or Rook > Swindle.
Admittedly that mostly comes from an odd desire for all three 1987 Decepticon Targetmasters (I know Scourge and Cyclonus were also targetmasters then but you know what I mean) to share a mold. Like, if Triggerhappy and Misfire are sharing a mold (though to me it's less if and more when), then it'd feel nice if Slugslinger did too. 3/3 instead of 2/3. Just because it feels a bit a nice lol.

Fangry from Twinferno could be fun. Since I'm starting to like the idea that the third Prime Wars instalment is basically finishing off squads (the rest of the combiners, Hosehead and Siren to go along with the rumoured Nightbeat, Repugnus and Grotusque to go with Doublecross etc), I get the idea he might be a retool next line. That's really just wild speculation tho.

Except for Triggerhappy possibly being similar to Highbrow, I don't see how any of the other 2 besides the obvious Breakaway could be retools. They are too unique to be retools, especially a dragon from a helicoptor

And honestly, even if they were extensive retools... bloody hell, they turned a helicopter into a dragon. Even the greatest of mold re-use nay-sayers would snatch that up in an instant because what in the heck

You were a smart man D-max, picking up that older Getaway toy. Like that you can have a nice lost light crew where the figures are as unique as the characters they represent. That toy never came to Canada but I am not fond of settling for this redeco.TR getaway may be the only deluxe I skip from all TR so far.

Regardless of the same parts being found on both TR toys, they were codeveloped so their similarities are intentional and less resources were spent than designing each from the ground up individually. However, both molds were made simultaneously, so its not like one mold was modified tomake the other (which is the definition of a retool) and I wouldnt call it a pretool either. We are entering a bold new age of efficiency in TF toy development, and I dont mind if we look at each case as a blend of different ways to save costs (parts sharing, co development and shared engineering) while giving us more product.

I think it is bogus and will not happen. Even if they make a Cyclnus which has the same knees, then it would just be a shared part and in no way a retool.

Tried to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one, but after starring at my Alpha Bravo for several minutes, I can't see anything that looks even remotely like Twinferno.

Breakaway is obviously just a recolored Chromedome. The rest don't seem to share any traits with other figures, TR or otherwise. Triggerhappy may have some shared engineering with the Blurr/Brainstorm mold, but the parts all look different. It doesn't appear to transform at all like Scourge or Highbrow. It's blindingly obvious that Hot Rod's transformation shares nothing with any of the CW figures: His chest appears to fold up to form part of the hood, and his arms fold up towards his head as well, rather than collapsing into his side like most of the CW figures.

Two figures sharing the same non-transforming thigh pieces or the same guns do not count as a retool or remold.

The only reason I got that guy was that he was under $5 on ebay up for bid and I regularly check to see what's under $5 to bid on, so I got lucky. And he is fun and I like him, and it keeps it unique like you said. I"m trying to stay diverse with this lot

but just to be clear! i stated that it LOOKS LIKE a heavy retool of a CW figure! now i never said that it ACTUALLY WAS!! i certainly didn't set it in stone that it was! so anything after that suggestive wise....was debateable

people on here tend to take what i say literally, if i state that something LOOKS LIKE or use the word PROBABLY people are like...."oh? i guess it must be so then! & written in stone in the anals of Hasbro"

but....nah! i certainly didn't use words like ACTUALLY WAS or IT IS in this case, but....there are shared similarites with some of the figures so far we've gotten, & we've even had repaints, which will no doubt continue on in this line(not that that's a bad thing )

yeah....but ok.....i rest my case with this whole retool, repaint, shared parts ect.(only for someone else to probably bring it up in future....no doubt).

I'm sorry how this might sound, but can you please stop responding like this whenever someone disagrees with you? It's very frustrating, makes you hard to take seriously and takes away from the conversation and debate.

Thats true, but that approaches a totality, meaning that by saying that, its no less possible for every single toy ever made from now on to "look" like a retool of any toy in the past. It doesnt really advance the conversation in anyway to say that TR Voyager Optimus Prime looks like a retooled upscale of RTS Prime.

But with a closer look the shoulders and most of all the cockpit in his chest would suggest otherwise. Scourge and Highbrow can't have their seats in their torso because they have to accommodate that slider part their waists are attached to.

The worst part about this line is that I have to buy them all.

Wave 3 deluxes will be purchased!! Just need to finish off Wave 2 deluxes at some point..Stupid Titans Return hitting me right in the feels..If we actually get a new Kup out of this series (I know.."rumored") I may be switching fully back to CHUG over MP. These are fun bots to toss around and transform. Parts sharing is the wave of the future (or the past, as child me did that with GI Joes)!!

Gotta agree with this. Everything in TR looks great, and the whole parts-sharing thing is really encouraging. While it's obviously not replacing redecoes and retools (or, uh, predecoes and pretools), it seems to be lessening the need for so many of them beyond the obvious ones like seekers and datsun bros. Kinda wish they'd figured it out earlier tbh.

Ouuu, then I am pretty sure you will be swtiching fully back. But hey, why not both?

Someone said they didnt have the cards and yeah, thats odd. They made such a big deal of it last NYCC with the fact that the stats are seperated between the main figure and the head. And this packaging is international since the languages are there but that doesnt mean the US packaging will have the cards since the cards themselves were something for the International packaging initially. So it simply means we no longer have cards, which is quite odd.

Maybe it's simply because they figured it as the replacement for the tech-spec-in-chest gimmick of the original toys. Now they've done all the original headmasters that's no longer needed or something.

Did we get a source on these wave 3 images? For some reason while I was looking at them last night I got the sense that these might be packaging tests. Maybe why the cards aren't there.

It makes sense. Kind of. It would have made way more sense if the factories were still in China and not vietnam since the source is a chinese board post on Baidu (which is China Google). But since the factories are no longer in China, I dont know how a chinese person would have goten hold of a test package, and thus I am assuming this is the real thing. especially since they are due to come out starting November (not in brick and mortar stores though).
