I don't mind and I accept characters like chromedome, hard head, skullcruncher etc who've always been headmasters but I must say I'm incredibly disappointed to see sentinel prime, galvatron, astrotrain, blurr and scourge be headmasters. To each their own and if you love them good for you but I'm definitely going to save money this year and the disappointment is high with me that these characters won't be stand alone bots.

I really don't see the big deal. The headmasters aren't really my thing either, but most of the bots look really good in this line so I'll likely be collecting most of them. If you don't want to use the headmaster gimmick, then fine, just don't. The only difference is you have to remove the head for the transformation, otherwise that are just like a standalone bot.
ZeroWolf wrote:Surely it can't matter that much just to remove the head when transforming. Plus I think it was inevitable that for hasbro to do headmasters again it would have to be line wide and at all price points. Nothing personal, just business.

Couldn't give a crud about Rewind and Stripes and their awful bricky altmodes.

Heh, I'm the opposite. I don't care for MP, I find RID aesthetically cheap-looking and awful and CW just didn't do it for me at all with it's constant repaints and remolds and feeling 'forced' to buy full teams including figures I couldn't possibly want even in the slightest.
Titans Return is the first time in YEARS where classic style Transformers have really struck a chord with me. I usually prefer the more complex movie-aestehtic but some of the TR designs has really awoken the nostalgia factor in me for certain characters that previous toys of them just never did (big example being Takara's Blurr which just ticks all the boxes for me whereas I had found the Generations Drift-retool from a few years ago completely repellent). Not saying I'm gonna buy every figure. I'm not. But I like that it's much easier to pick and choose with this line than with CW and not feel like I'm missing out on a play feature by not buying more.
And it's not like the head doesn't have a place to go in alt-mode since they pilot the cockpits and such. Which has always appealed to me about the original Headmasters and lines like Human Alliance where you get a lil figure to drive the alt-mode.

CommanderShadowmus wrote:Mixed oppinions: Limbs look fine. So that's Gaihawk, Hellbat, Drillhorn and Killbison. They look fine, (even if Killbison would've been better in cartoon accurate orange instead of toy accurate gold).
The torso however is a big downfall... Using Skylynx and redecoing him into Deathsaurus? Just... No! While Deathsaurus was indeed a member of the Breastforce (quit giggling...), he WASN'T one of the members that could combine into Liokaiser. Heck, those guys mostly had military themed vehicle modes, and then comes Deathsaurus who has a friggin mechanical beast mode.
Basically, Deathsaurus takes the animal theme for this new version of the Breastforce too far, and I don't like to see him transform from a beast into a vehicle mode with no standard robot mode. Call me boring, but I'd rather have Leozack as YET ANOTHER redeco and retooling of Silverbolt...![]()
And as for the black Liokaiser helmet, get your turqoise/green paint out to correct that, dear chaps...

TFSource also has a nice "order stacking" system. You can add any preorder to your "stack" and it will not be billed until that item comes in stock. You can then wait to ship your merchandise until you have a bundle over $150 and get free shipping. If you change your mind before the pre-order comes in, you can cancel it with NO penalty whatsoever. It's a good way to help you budget to get the things you want over the course of a few months, since pre-orders usually open several months before the release of the actual product, at least as far as the Takara stuff goes.

This is what I love about this line. While I'm only planning on getting the legends and titan masters from TR (I'm going TT for the remainder of the line), they all look fragging awesome! The heads look much better than the originals, and the originals weren't that bad unless you had a really loose one.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really couldn't care less if they add the feature to guys/gals that didn't have it previously. I'm going to get an amazing looking Blurr and Galvatron with actual articulation out of the deal. I not beholden to a lack of gimmicks just because the original didn't, otherwise I'd be throwing out way more than half of the toys in existence. Adding new features to old characters, plus creating new ones with that feature are part of the sell of transformers. Otherwise, everyone should hate the orignal PMOP because OP's original toy didn't have the PM feature. Same thing with Blurr, Kup, Cyclonus, Scourge, and Hot Rod. And let's just throw out all of action masters, a few pretenders, a lot of G2, machine wars, transmetals, and 75% of the unicron trilogy while we're at it. Characters change and evolve over time, otherwise the story of Dinobot wouldn't make sense. I understand not wanting to buy a toy because you just don't like it, but some people trotting out the idea that the original didn't have it, so they won't buy it makes me wonder why the would buy any updates of toys or even collect toys at all.
Maybe we should throw out articulation too since most of the original toys didn't have it.![]()

End rant.
And I might get both the TT Hardhead and TR Hardhead because he was the only one I had the G1 version so that one can go on my desk at work along with my G2 Superion and Menasor.

No he's not. If anything sentinel prime is the iron man of transformers not a headmaster.
