What I remember about it is kind of foggy, its been a long time.
I'm pretty sure its from the mid to late 90s. Its about aliens attacking earth. I don't think it was targeted towards kids, maybe towards teenagers and adults. I always thought it was part of the V series, but my dad says its not and I can't find anything about a V animated miniseries.

Nope, I remember Invader Zim fondly.

It was 2D, what I meant by not cartoony was that it wasn't like typical Nickelodeon cartoons where everything is misshapen.
I can't think of an a way to describe the art style though
