I've had this done for a little while now and posted over at tfw. Basically I needed an Ultra Magnus for my collection and thought SS Grappel would be a good mold for him. I didn't like how fat he looked but when I reversed him he came out really nice! Hope you like:

That's the beauty of it... the head is still Grappel's, but I just added some antennae to it!

that, in my opinion, is the most unique take on an Ultra Magnus I have seen for a while.

Everyone eschews the Optimus Prime repaint, or the repaint and custom trailer, but using a completely different character mould just makes it that little bit more special.

Yes, really nice approach. Grapple is never in my interest but couple days ago I just hunt him down at TJMaxx for this purpose.

HASBRO - TAKE NOTE!

Since I don't have Grappel, I have to ask: How hard was it to reverse his arms and legs? What did you use for the antennas?

It wasn't hard at all to swap the arms.
In fact, this mold has a known problem that the
arms pop off rather TOO easily.

I used cut-up pieces from DCUC Deathstroke's
staff to make the antennae.

simply put - no one was paying attention, or they didn't see it as economically viable.

or they just didn't care (my money is actually on the last option)

I have never even attempted to do a paintjob on a TF before, but seeing this makes me want to try.

Other than reversing the arms and legs, did you have to take anything else apart to paint it?

From looking at the pictures, it looks like you painted the whole thing white first, and then applied the other colors. Did you have any problems with the bright orange showing through?
