Hello all,
After lurking on this board for a little while, I was inspired a few weeks ago to get to work on my own repaint. About a decade ago I was WELL into my Warhammer models, but I always preferred the modelling aspect to the gaming. I've always loved Transformers (while the Warhammer obsession fell by the wayside many years back) but it had never occured to give them custom paint jobs until a little while back when I found the beauties at

Anyway enough of my life story, here's my first effort, a work in progress (still need to add the Repolabels transfers, on their way over the Atlantic as we speak, and then coat with satin varnish). I love the Universe Ironhide mold but there were several elements of the colour scheme that seemed lazy or just plain wrong to me, so I thought I'd give him the honour of being first. Sorry for the crappy photo at this point, will try to get a better image once he's completed.

Ironhide was painted with Citadel paints (as I'm so used to them). He was undercoated black (didn't bother masking his see-through parts as they would just clash eventually anyway), and the red was completed with 2 layers of gore red, followed by a metal-red combo, followed by a black wash, followed by another coat of red. Metallics were drybrushed over the black areas until almost solid, followed by the same black wash, and then another metallic drybrush to highlight. Black detailing was then added, followed by some lighter red highlighting along raised parts in vehicle mode. Hope you like, next project will be ROTF Soundwave in pseudo-G1 colours.
