its kind of interesting. how that treadbolt is yellow and blue and in jetfires mold. just as jetstorm is jetfires brother in animated. treadbolt was a little micromaster stealthjet. i love his backstory but the jet just dosnt match his stealth style.

so i just treat treadbolt as jetstorm. atleast until megatron clones him with protoforms and infects them with a curupted silverbolt spark into a vehicon.

I really don't follow what you are going on with here. Universe Treadbolt has the same identity as G1 Treadbolt, seeing as the Universe continuity kind of died out a couple years ago.

I agree that while I've liked some of the once-tiny-but-now-much-bigger repaints they've done (such as Big Daddy and Powerglide), Treadbolt was not one of my favourites...The mold is great of course and the paint-detailing is suprisingly well done (especially in bot-mode and on the helmet) but it just doesn't look anything like the original Treadbolt aside from the colours...Big Daddy (repainted from Downshift) was the same type of car as the micromaster and he ended up looking great...Treadbolt is not even remotely the same type of jet...And the exact same can be said about Stormcloud...These are two examples of Hasbro just wanting to lazily milk some more money out of us, which is fine with me as long as it's cleverly done...But in this case it isn't...

I refuse to buy Stormcloud and I WAS refusing to buy Treadbolt but I finally did after I found out about the Classics Prime/Jetfire combination...Didn't want to buy another straight-up Jetfire...So Treadbolt has only ever been displayed combined with Prime in my collection...

how do you not see the point? hed be a crappy treadbolt but a perfect jetstorm. jetstorm being jetfires TWIN so yea theyd look alike... same mold. stuff chyea uhuh... and i didnt know jetfire combined with prime?! is there a pic?

I love the idea of introducing Animated characters into G1. Nothing worse than multiple toys of the same character. Now I can keep Micromaster Treadbolt as himself and G1 Jetfire gets a brother.

If they remolded the head, I'd love GTS Ransack as Prowl. They already have similar alt modes and colour schemes. Though the head would have to be G1-styling.

And I'd kill for G1 Bumblebee as Wasp.

The Classics Powerglide mold looks slaggin' awful and the repaint as Storm Cloud is a joke. Storm Cloud should have been done from Cybertron Starscream and Powerglide should at least have been repainted as Tail Wind as they are both A-10 Thunderbolts in their original incarnation. Can think of 200 TF's that deserve the Voyager mold ahead of Powerglide.
His colour scheme looks more like Tailwind's mold brother, Hot House anyway.

Treadbolt could at least come from the Gigant Bomb/BB mold with a new head, maybe. Oh and on the subject of Micro homages, Evac as Blaze Master.

I actually only bought Treadbolt as a consolation prize at Target for a copious lack of ROTF preview figures, and the fact that he only cost ten bucks. Now that I see that combined mode, though, he seems like a great way to spruce up that rather plain Ultra Magnus repaint of CL Prime I have without spending insane scratch on the FP set.

Did I miss something? Can you elaborate for me on this? I'd love to see those two combined please. I would love to experiment using my Ultra Magnus, Jetfire, or Treadbolt.

Oh by the way, Treadbolt and Jetfire are repaints of Dreadwing, the Botcon release (unless I'm mistaken on the timeline for releases).

I would have figured as much. There's never been an original mold in a Botcon exclusive and no reason to start now. It was a nice dream though.

I got Treadbolt and eventually I'm going to slip a Con sticker on him and call him Afterburner after the G2 figure.
