Ok. This new pic is of it with the finalized face with Goat-T.

I also painted this one different to show how well the clear parts can work for it.

I used Tamaya Clear orange paint for it then just regular yellow for the details.

I think it really make the head standout.

Enjoy.

Great work, it's nice to see how this one's turning out.
Despite that there's still some work to be done I don't doubt it'll fetch a nifty price once it's done.

Erh, are you going to use a bit darker blue on it too? It would be nice for detailwork on the wings.

Allrighty then. Time for a update.

After looking over the comics and the Toy pictures I decided Dark Blue (Yes it was Dark Blue, the damn flash made it look lighter) was the wrong way to go and made another casting but this time painted the green a Darker Green and the Blue is now Black.

You'll also notice that I did some shoulder work and anyone that collects Alts should know what I used for the shoulder points.

Another thing to mention is how well the light piping works on this one. I casted clearer parts for the head peices so light passed through easier. You'll notice a glow in both the flash and non-flash pics. The head really is turning out well.

Also, as a side deal, if anyone wants just the head for their own projects I'm willing to make them sperate. I'll sell clear head peices for $10 and solids for $7.

Shipping of course would end up being like $5 or something. Anyhoo, your choice. Who knows...you might have an idea for a Alt Thunderwing/wheels.

Here's a look at the back cockpit mods and the LOC that will later become the mini bot for the Pretender concept.

And just for fun the Supermode wouldn't be too difficult to make if one really wanted to. I do hope to give him thinner legs later that slide and exspand and possibly use the old legs for the base of the Super Pretender arms.(Nothing set in stone. I'd rather scratchbuild a accurate one for that.)

Enjoy.

TFM Edit/Comment: Looking back at these pics it really does look a hell of alot better in Darker colors. Also, got to love those Alt Sideswipe fits!!!

Looking good. It will be interesting to see what the final inner robot will look like given the differences between the original G1 Thunderwing robot anf the LoC Starscream. I am also curious how you’re going to fit the LoC inside the larger “shell” for the pretender feature.

from the pic it seems the "inner" bot will have something more akin to a minicon port

Yup, the little guy only goes under the cockpit area. I think it's just fine that way.

I know about the port under the cockpit, but we can’t say for certain that is the only connection. Remember, Thunderwing was able to combinwe with his pretender shell ij vehicle mode to creat a more powerful vehicle form, He could also fit inside it in either mode as well. Therefore, only TFMaster could say whether or not he has plans to have the smaller robot actually fit inside the larger shell.

Ok. I'll say it officially. That is the only way I could impliment the Pretender concept.

Look at your own E.Megatron and tell me where else I can fit the bot?

Not inside the body. It's full of mechanics needed for transformation.

Hope that lays that topic to rest.

I'm not so sure about that- I mean it would require some original parts and extensive modifications to the internal mechanisms to the arms and sides, but it's arguably doable.

Whether the sheer ammount of work you'd need to do to pull it off is actually worth the effort though is an entirely different question however.

What you'd need to do would be to rework the entire upper arm and chest sections, and by rework, I mean prettymuch scratchbuilt the necessary sections of the mold- namely the front of the torso to allow the entire front of the chest to open down and forwards (utilising the same type of hinge as you see on Prime's trailer) in addition to remolding thesides to make them more basic and streamlined with the front of the chest and fixing the shoulder joint in terms of the torso itself.

In fact you would probably be best off actually making the sides and front of the torso one solid piece. Last of all, you would need to scratchbuild a mechanism (possibly incorporating it into the torso piece itself) which would allow the arm retraction action to be at the worst, localised entirely to that section of the torso- ideally as much of it self contained within the shoulder struts themselves.

Like I said, it's theoretically doable, but whether you want to put that insane ammount of work into the custom (involving at the least, sculpey, and at the worst, actual plastic casting- not to mention actually designing an entirely original mechanism) is an entirely different thing altogether.

Edit: I also left off needing to make the wings on the loc figure fold inwards, to minimise the width it would need for storage.

Thanks for the response TFMaster. I didn’t want to assume anything one way or another, and wanted to hear from you directly to see what your plans were on the matter. That way there is no mistake. Thanks.

Trust me. It's not "Doable". There is no room even if I did redo almost everything. The only way it would be doable is to srcatchbild the entire inner bot it's self.

Do one yourself. Then tell me it's doable. No offence but talking about it and actually doing it are two different things.

You mentioned earlier that the whole kit is 4 parts. What are the four parts? Head and chest? and... two shoulder guns?

Actually it's 5 parts. There are 3 for the head. Front back and face plate and the body part and lastly is the neck ball joint.

Nothing more then that.

Very good! I've always liked Thunderwing's character since reading about him in the original comic. I never realized how well that mold worked for him. A+ from me. :)
