Some big stuff this issue. Some continuity notes/general thoughts below

- Megatron seems to have been chosen to lead what will become the Decepticons by someone/something else. I wonder if this might be Unicron, Goliant, or something else entirely.

- Megatron's gun mode allows him to control the wielder. I've never been a huge fan of the gun mode, but I actually really like this.

- This also creates a really interesting dynamic for Starscream, who has been under Megatron's control. This would explain his personality shift and why he wants Megatron dead more than just ambition.

- This Universe does have an evil Matrix, whatever the name may end up being. This backs up the idea that it could be Unicron that chose Megatron, as the Autobot Matrix usually comes from Primus.

- Really unclear whether Dezimir and Mechanikoar are the same entity or different entities.

Thinking further on this, given that the dialogue from this mysterious individual is purple, I wonder if it might be Galvatron from the future (IE WFC Trilogy) or even Beast Megatron trying to change the past to make Megatron stronger.

The new creative team taking over with issue 25 has been officially unveiled

Robert Kirkman will be writing the series, with Dan Mora as the artist

Current colorist Mike Spencer and letterer Rus Wooton will continue to work on the series.

Love it or hate it, Daniel Warren Johnson's time in control of Skybound's Transfomers books will be ending at issue 24 Thanks to Comicbook.com and Skybound we now know who will be taking over!

This October, the New Era will be begin with Robert Kirkman (you may know him from Void Rivals, Invincible, or the Walking Dead) writing, Dan Mora (Justice League Unlimited, Superman) on pencils, while retaining the current colorist Mike Spicer and letter Rus Wooton. Issue 25 is scheduled for an October 8th released date and will be an oversized issue.

The run across Transformers and Void Rivals has been excellent so far. I like Kirkman's writing in general, so feel optimistic going forward.

Well, I wasn't so sure about Skybound's TF series at the start, but this publisher has certainly earned my trust! Here's to more great TF and Energon Universe stuff!

These last few comics have been pretty damned great. Really liking this version of Megatron and his reaction to Prime's burying of the deer. The latest issue was pretty excellent. Can't wait for the big fight next issue!

What are people's thoughts on it? I know Scotty wasn't feeling it. Did he ever return to it? See how it's been playing out?

I don't want to talk for Scotty, but I am sure he never left. From me- I have been enjoying the rest of the Energon Universe more than the Transformers book so far. I am looking forward to the new creative team, and am excited to see how the first full story arc concludes.

Really? That's interesting. I would say I'm enjoying Transformers and Void Rivals fairly equally. Both are superb, in my opinion. G.I. Joe was kinda take it or leave it but is steadily improving. Are you not enjoying the Transformers or is it more that you are but are enjoying the others even more? (Not judgey or anything. Genuinely curious.

That was a damn fine speech from Ultra Magnus. Really loving this characterisation of UM (admittedly I love all characterisations of him) that shows his flaws, insecurities and vulnerabilities.
