I always found the switch in animation styles a bit jarring. Different studios had different takes on the characters.

Another jarring thing was the utter coldness in Decepticon attitudes to each other. One moment they're getting along fine, the next they're throwing each other to their deaths. Lives mean nothing to them. Of course, we blame Hasbro for this complete ruthlessness since the characters were being discontinued at the time.
