I went and edited the post to add in direct links to the MEGA host pages for the three documents.

Well done, dude. That makes total sense!
On a side note, I am horrifically jealous of the apparent free time you had to be able to put this together. Stupid flu season sucking up my life and energy and time...

It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Something else I forgot to mention about placing "The Web" after the other episodes I have preceding it in this order, is that doing so adds weight to a few more moments in the episode.
With Cheetor having run off into danger multiple times, now, disobeying Optimus each time, no less, that adds more meaning to this exchange between Rhinox and Rattrap, after Cheetor runs off again for the last time in the episode:
RHINOX: "Um, Um, Um...'
RATTRAP: "What -- ?"
RHINOX: "You know what he's gonna do."
RATTRAP: "Aw, he's just grinding his gears. Even he's not dumb enough to disobey the great Optimus again."
RHINOX: "Uh huh."
RATTRAP: "Okay, okay, okay. I'll stop him. If I can catch him! Sheeesh..."
Now we know good and well what Rhinox is thinking in this scene, with experienced gained from watching every instance where Cheetor ran off into danger before now, when in the original order all we had to go off of were just the two times Cheetor ran off (once in the first episode, and once earlier in this episode), and the first time was barely regarded after it happened since Optimus focused instead on Rattrap objecting to one of Optimus's orders.
Meanwhile, in "Power Surge", Rattrap and Tarantulas had had a persona scuffle between the two. So when Rattrap sneaks into Tarantulas's lair to rescue Cheetor in "The Web", the ensuing fight between Rattrap and Tarantulas now feels like a rematch, with Tarantulas now taking Rattrap's unwelcomed presence in his lair more personal. And when the fight ends, Tarantulas's final line of "I hate that rat!" feels more impactful, now that the two have something of a history between the two.
While the two had also previously tussled during the big battle in Episode 2, it was very brief compared to the longer and more personal fight they had in "Power Surge".
Truth be told, I'd been thinking about this in the back of my mind for a while now, and spent a few weeks trying to shuffle around episodes in my head while doing various tasks at work that didn't require a lot of brainpower. It was only when I made that post that I finally sat down to write it all out.
But if you guys think that's impressive, you should see the work I did recently for the Beast Wars franchise and cartoon pages on TFWiki. I gave both of them a major overhaul that, collectively, took about a month to do. Namely, the franchise page now has a proper "Overview" section, a "Sequel" section, and the other sections have all been (either slightly or majorly) revised and extended. But the cartoon page... Oh boy, the cartoon page now has a new "Production" section, a new "Continuations and Addenda" section, and the one I'm most proud of, a MASSIVE new "Continuity" section that lays ALL the cards on the table to explain the full continuity of the Beast Wars cartoon; how it changed over time, its relationship with G1, its prehistoric setting, its future setting, and more.
Check 'em out and give 'em a read. You might learn something new.

Wow. That was...cringey to say the least. I crap on most television shows from the last 20 years, but none of the ones featured made it past their debut, save for Beast Wars. Ironic and hilarious. "They're beasts. Who are at war." Technically not inaccurate. But jeez...
I used to watch The Daily Show with Craig Kilborn all the time as well. It was the last time that show was funny. When Colbert took it over it went into the shitter and stayed there, just like the Late Show.
Rollerjam was fun to watch back in the day, too.

Sadly, this dismissive attitude toward kids shows was really quite common back then, as children's television in general was looked down upon by the news media as some of the lowest forms of entertainment not worth the time of any mature adult.First-Aid wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:Wow. To give an example, there are recordings on YouTube of tons of news and talk show interviews with Beatles drummer Ringo Starr from back in the 80s when he became both the first narrator of the Thomas series and one of its main promoters when it was first brought over from the UK to the US, and in every single one of these interviews, the interviewers always asked Ringo the same question each time, something along the lines of "Why? Why would you get yourself involved with children's television? You're a living legend. Why would you waste your time with something so far beneath you?" Of course, they didn't use those exact words to his face, but you could tell (and Ringo could tell) from their tone and body language that that's what they were thinking.
And to each and every single one of these interviewers who asked him this, Ringo always gave the same answer nearly verbatim: "Why not? I like children. I used to be one." This was a man who simply wanted to help spread joy and amusement to the hearts and minds of young viewers on both sides of the Atlantic, and all the TV folk who interviewed him about it were utterly baffled that someone as famous as he would make such an effort for something that they viewed to be a complete waste of time and money, just because it was something aimed at kids.

It really is amazing. I agree 100%. I remember my mom giving me crap because of my continuing to watch cartoons into my 20s and 30s. I'm lucky that I found a wife who also enjoys cartoons (OG Cartoon Network FTW...Samurai Jack, Johnny Bravo, Power Puff Girls, Total Drama Island, Dexter's Lab). I wonder how much of that popular adult dislike contributed to the counter-culture-turned-mainstream that has led to the current popularity of comic book movies, collectibles, and anime. We grew up watching and loving these shows and have passed that on to our generation's kids. The result is a way more accepting culture regarding these classics.
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.
