I need to ask a few people questions about their knowledge about Asian Movies for my Asian film class. Thanks for advance!
1: Have you ever watched an Asian film?
2: If yes, what was the title?
3: Did you enjoy it?
4: If yes, would you see another Asian film? Why or why not.

1. Yes
2. Battle Royale, Battle Royale 2, Initial D, Sympathy for Lady Vengence, Hard Boiled, Once Upon a Time in China, Shaolin Soccer, Infernal Affairs, The Returner, and a hell of a lot of anime that would take all day to list.
3. Yes
4. Yes. Most of the Asian films I have seen rely more on telling a good story rather than overblown CGI effects that Hollywood is so in love with and hasn't really resorted to remakes(althogh there are some) yet.

1. Yes
2. The Drunken Master(old and new both with Jackie Chan), Fearless, Hero, Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle, Godzilla films, The Returner, Steamboy, The Protector, Ong Bak.
3. Yes, I've enjoyed watching all of them, numerous times.
4. The story is beautifully told, like with Hero, the visual style added so much more to the story which was already great to begin with. It seems that not only do they take a lot more care when telling a story, but they make it look pleasing as well. Not only that but the detail when using special effects, they take care not to overdo it. They don't act in front of a green screen, or talk to invisible creatures for 99.9% of the movie. It's refreshing.

1 Yes
2- Dam near every Godzilla, Riki Oh(the story of Riki), Shaolin Wheel of Life, HardBoiled, Seventh Samuri, Enter The Dragon, hell the list goes on and on....
3- Yes I did enjoy them
$- Basicly I enjoy the different cultural aspects in the aproach to story telling. Granted most of my experience in these films reguards monsters and fighting, but the monster aspect isn't a jump out slasher motif, it's a fun larger than life, campy, and over all fun time focusing more on the details of the action as apose to a quick scare.
The fighting movies always make it a point of defining the figures through the story. For example, Arnold always walks out already domanering, where as say, Jet Lee always starts off more down to earth and demonstrated(literaly) his skill in an increasing manner throughout the film earning him a domanering status by the films end.
Plus the fighting skills take tremendious skill on the players part.
Now maybe, they loose something in translation, or it's a cultural thing, but some are very hoaky, but dam near all are enjoyable in a way that domestic films will never grasp.
Are they "Better" no, they are just a different unique style of cinima.
Hope this helps.

1. Yes.
2. All Godzilla up to 2000, most before I was 10 (he was my atomic, genocidal version of Barney), Fearless, a bunch of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan classics, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
3. All but the last one. It burnt my eyes.
4. Depends on the film. A good movie is a good movie, but I have a vendetta against Ang Lee for **** up the Hulk franchise.

Re: Survey For My Asian Film Class. Please Help
Question, are Bollywood films considered to be part of the "Asian Film" genre or is it considered a seperate category for the purposes of this survey?
We Maximals have ruled Cybertron for Millenia. We talked about peace! You didn't want peace! We talked about co-operation! You didn't want co-operation! You want war! Is that it? You want a war! Well, you've got a war!
