So this is a question to all your TMNT geeks out there, you know who you are, well I need some comic related help.
I know idw is currently reprinting the original Mirage run in tpb form, but they also have a new ongoing series in colour, including one-shots and miniseries.

Now the question I have is this, this new ongoing series in colour, is that an all new series and universe or is it a continuation of the old Mirage series? Because I've been trying to find the answer to this question, but only come across conflicting information, some say it's a continuation of the original series, others say it's a reboot. Now I've tried a few fan sites and wikis, but those just say it exists....

So it would be cool if someone could help me with this, since I am pretty interested in it.

The IDW produced TMNT books are indeed a reboot. Not just a slight retelling of what we know but a whole new origin sequence with overtones of spirtuality that are just now coming to light in issue #6. Some dialouge seemed to indicate that perhaps there was a backdoor into the old continuity. That dialouge now points to what we are seeing in this second arc.

The Collected Editions HC that are collecting the original Mirage series from the 80's have been great. The third volume has now been solicited for pre-orders. Volume 1 is out and 2 hits soon.

The first 4-issue arc has been collected already.
Just realized I didn't address the micro series currently running.
The third one hits today, Donatello. Mikey and Raph have come out already. The micro one shots are weaving a sub-plot under the main story in the micro that is hinting toward this universes Shredder. The last page of the Raph micro, the first one, shows his shadow being cast.

Awesome, it sounds even better, I hope the micro is part of the trade that's supposed to come out in Feb.
