i have got an armada overload that i am dying TO repaint but i need some ideas

out of those choices I would choose Omega Sentinal.... but that still would not be my first choice for the mold. What about a Bruticus, or a Cybertronian style Big Convoy?

well so far i am thinking bruticus sounds pretty good with the following minicons
makeshift(emergency team)vortex
dunerunner(adventure team)swindle
knockout(land military team)brawl
wreckage(land military team)onslaught
sunstorm(energon saber repaint)blastoff

Actually, none of the existing combiners seem to quite fit with Overload in my opinion (possibly excepting the Stunticons - Rollout as Motormaster, Mirage as Drag Strip, and maybe Oval as Wildrider, Backtrack/Sideburn as Dead End and Spiral as Breakdown).

I'm thinking, though, that he's got a pretty good build for a Metroplex-type figure. In fact having said that, I'm tempted to have a muck-about with him myself...

well my main idea is to paint overload as the gestalt form and then the minicons as the combiner bots/cons (6 total figs for the repaint)

Personally, I think that would be a very bad idea. If you?re going to make a gestalt character, make a true gestalt, not a big robot with a bunch of Minicons attached. No, the two best Ideas I have seen so far are the Ultra Magnus and Powermaster Prime ideas.

Menasor/Motormaster, maybe. I don't think he fits with ANY of the others listed in the poll.
ones I think he'd be good for are Ultra Magnus, Sentinel Maximus (the OTFCC exclusive that was remolded)... I can't remember any other really good ideas for that mold.

i plan on adding various mods depending on who this bad boy gets repainted as.(overload head will retooled,adding combiner specific weaponry)

I?ve seen it, and, personally, I don?t like it. It isn?t really a true Gestalt. If you want to do a gestalt, do a gestalt, not a cop-out sticking minicons on an already super-robot.

I had a plan a while back to do a Fort Max out of Overload but never had the time...I was gonna do Camo Paint on him...
It's truly up to you Do what ever you want even if it means adding Mini-cons to make it a combiner

i have plans for a bw piranacon that will involve snapper,bm hammerhead shark(don't remember the name),the bw mutant scorpion/barracuda,bw seaclamp,and bw clawjaw.probably going to be more of a actionmaster than a true gestalt but i believe the final product will end up speaking for itself.
clawjaw and the shark will be the arms,mutant and seaclamp will be legs,snapper will be torso.no manta ray because the only modern ray is depthcharge........wel i guess i could make him into a cannon base of some sort but he is too large to be part of the actual limb of the gestalt.piranacon's sword will be a repainted energon saber.

For the majority of my kitbashes, this is what I have to tell people. *Sighs.* When will they learn to only suggest, not try and make it their bash using your hands...?

Anyways... Personally I'm up for Menasor. And I have a very good reason, too... What you do is make Overload into Motormaster. Then ytou add the 4 other Stunticons... And it works oh so well because Overload/Motormaster would then be such a huge, hulking and oversized bot that, well... Let's face facts here: He can't be all that fast.

And to have 4, high speed bots to go with him... Killer offset.

Motormaster then has 4 basic minions to run off and do high speed attacks while he, himelf, brings up the rear... Give him some odd missle launchers or what have you (think Metal Gear Rex from the video game Metal Gear Solid and its rail gun/nuke launching arm. :twisted:

).

The other way to think of it is that the 4 Minicon-Stunticons could be more the primary running off to do high speed attacks, Menasor (giving that I finally remembered that Overload has that tiny Prime bot as his head. :oops:

) could be, like, the giant bot that brings up the rear similar to Trypticon in G1... And Motormaster could be the main one commanding it. ^_^ (Just as Liquid Snake did with MGRex in MGS.

because it takes TIME to get into your head and into this specific idea you have in mind. and maybe we won't actually be able to get into that head-space. then we just shrug and speak from our own perspective. or some people just lose interest at that point and say nothing.

I have a hard time understanding what role a separate figure serves for a team of figures that previously combined into one form... basically at that point you have the combined form as a new separate character... and not that the fiction ever really showed any significant personality from an individual member in the combined personality, but in theory that separate character has the combined personalities of the members, at the same time as the individual separate personalities...
Unless you do some kind of alternate reality... originality is difficult, especially in a fandom where most of our creative efforts are simple minor modifications (to both visual representations of characters in toys or art, and fiction) Like Giant Planet Transformers who just happen to be homages to gestalts, who have Mini-Cons who just happen to be homages to those gestalts's members. again, derivitive, since it's Giant Planet, but then it's all derivitive when you're working within a pre-existing universe.

how about we dont worry about continuity (sp) .. its a homage. its going to resemble an other bot... it doesnt have to go along with anything.. its just going to resemble something.. my gundam megatron sure as hell isnt a transformer.. BUT i thought it resembled megs. so i made it... its all personal preference and in fun... thats what is great about this hobby is its a lot of FUN . lets not take that outta it. just make this thing how you want and show us a kick ass bash!!!

thank you.i was starting to worry about people getting a little vicious.ultimately it is my decision.but as a newbie to the bashing i want to get opinions from everybody.some are good,some are a little rude,and some.....well lets just leave at that.so far shade's idea about the whole metal gear style actually is playing pretty well in my head,however it will be awhile before i get finalized on this one.keep the ideas coming.
