Re: OPTIMUS PRIME - voyager class Kitbashed
Didn't reply to the other forum, but I gotta say this is bloody amazing...
Do you have a tutorial coming on this, or transformation sequences for the other figures?
What inspires you to make your mods? I have a couple of mods on 70s BB, (as I feel he's about the least-appreciated/revered of the movie character molds) that I'm working on designing, and I'll try to get started on this weekend...
Great job on the Voyager Prime backpack once again; and keep on inspiring other kitbashers, you've created a new milestone...

Re: OPTIMUS PRIME - voyager class Kitbashed
Thanks for the Response closet_rat. I am sorry to say that there is no tuts on any of my mods, as I did not keep a progressive log. Try to do 1 for prime from scratch. Was not very successful (I suck with words, no pics). Transformation sequence for all my mods will come in time. Am currently working on Swindle & Arcee. No tuts for them either. Next Project will be starscream. Will try to remember progressive log for him. Already have plans drawn for the mod (will not release just in case of failure). I do not own a 70s BB so that will not be done. I actually enjoy doing the mods & the reason I do them is I see a great product But the design is not movie Accurate. I try do get it as close as possible (best to my ability and with the frame i am working with). Swindle of course was not in the movie, So he will be based on the game. Arcee from a prototype pic. Glad I could Inspire.
my prototype for Primes Sword.
the plans for primes sword.
They are now tied into a sub page of Optimus Prime.

Re: Transformers Movie Figures Mod
Taking a cue from you, I'm planning on correcting the shoulder pad armor , adding the clavicle (probably out of very thin aluminum, like computer parts) and adding the shoulder spikes (after removing them from the arms) as a transformable detail on Voyager Prime.
Thanks so much for your inspiration!
Also, plan to copy Sonray's idea, and smooth out the arms to match the movie (soon as I figure out what he used...).
Oh, and before I forget... how did you rotate the fender assembly on the legs, to make them face backwards for the front tire mod?**
**the movement of the front tire & fender to the outer heels
Outside of re-tooling it with wire or plastic hinges, I can see how you accomplished it...

The above link is a rough sketch (no measurements, not to scale) to answer how i got the front wheel from Alt mode to Robot mode.
closet_rat, looking forward to seeing your end result.

I'm having trouble accessing your other work. BUt I like what you did with Arcee, bring her closer to her concept 3D render. Nice work.

Oh, the front tire re-position I got (and if possible, would like to try to improve; but would never have thought of it if not for you), but I can't figure out how you rotated the rear-tire fenders to face backward to frame the front tire...

Re: Transformers Movie Figures Mod - Updated 29/04/08
Closet_rat. basically I cut the fender from the part that connects to the leg. I had to modify it a bit so that so that both parts could rotate on a pin (1mm). Will eventually upload a pic to show this. Transforming(17).jpg Transforming(16).jpg Transforming(13).jpg on the transformation sequence page may give some idea.
Would like to see what U come up with for the front part.
