In any case, when the 07 movie came out, my sister, Van, bought me an Ironhide toy becuase I own a black F-150 (use that truck too, landscaping and interior design means truck=needed). I saw the toy and went "ATTACK BEAST!!" Thus I have two Ironhide's in the house, and one of them is done save a remodel on the head/face;)
But you can't have TEAM Knight Rider with only one character, so I started hunting through the original movie toys for the rest of the vehilces. Domino was easy, she was a dyed 07 camaro Bee with a Jazz had... was becuase the dogs got to her:S So soon she will be a slightly modified, repainted Cliffjumper with a Smokescreen head;) I'd thought that Ratchet would be a good Dante, but the Voyager was too big in scale... then the axe attack (or the rescue) Ratchet came out and he was perfect in scale in both modes!
The cycles I had to wait on till this most recent line of toys, no motorcycles of the right size or design! But a pair of repainted Knockout's and they were done.
To be honest this is probably the least extensive, and overall easiest repaint I've done, and it's also the first time a toy required no kitbashing at all, the Knockout mold is just THAT cool;) I did some line work of the toy in robot mode from front, profile and back because I tend to have my toys in battle-mode and thus I plan that paint job first, then modify slightly for alt-mode nessisities.
The cycles change their paint jobs during the course of the series. Originally they were both silver, then Kat was yellow and I think Plato went black. I finally decided to do a rather 'harliquin' paint job in primarly silver and yellow for the two of them, having them be exact mirrors for the other. I left their heads alone save for paint. The 'mouths' and top of the head were painted silver and I put some yellow edging around the inside edge of the eye and the lower edge of the flare-back on their 'carnival' masks. once the paint had set I transformed them to Cycle mode to touch up the paint where needed, and wrote KAT I and PTO I on Kat and Plato respectivly, then went back the next day and hit them with gloss.
Of course I've run into a problem with their old combo car mode... until I relaised that my stealth 09 Scorp is perfect in scale to combine the two little cycles so Scorp will get a minor kitbash, and even more minor repaint (if at all, I love his black and silver) and will become Mathyaus, baby of the TKR vehicles!
In any case, links to follow;) The cycles would NOT stay upright on my photobooth (such as it is) and thus I had to prop them up a bit... I also didn't realise until posting just now that I forgot to take a straight on view of their battle-mode, which I'll have to correct. ...and to stave off potential questions, my RL initials spell JEDI
